TRANSFERRING UNCLAIMED FUNDS TO THE TOWN’S GENERAL FUND
WHEREAS, as part of development activity in Danville, the Town collects a variety of
fees and deposits related to development projects. These can range from security
deposits for work to be done, tree preservation security or for pass
through/reimbursement on work done by others through benefit districts; and
WHEREAS, Town staff has reviewed these special purpose funds to return unclaimed
deposits in those funds to the original depositor and after this effort was left with a total
of $65,533.43 in unclaimed funds, deposited by 26 different individuals or entities; and
WHEREAS, Government Code Sections 50050 through 50053 provide for a process to
transfer unclaimed funds that have been held for at least three years into the Town’s
General Fund after publication of a notice identifying the depositor, the amount and the
purpose of the deposit; and
WHEREAS, the Town has now complied with all requirements of these code sections
and the remaining funds are eligible to be transferred to the Town’s General Fund; now,
therefore, be it
RESOLVED, that the Danville Town Council approves the transfer of $65,533.43 in
unclaimed funds to the Town’s General Fund.
