LLAD 1983-1 helped fund the maintenance of street lights, roadside landscaping and parks and community facilities. Every property in Town was included in LLAD No. 1983-1. Individual assessments varying based on the degree of benefit to each property that was provided by the District. In 2025, the property owners in Danville approved the formation of a new District, LLAD No. 2025-1 to replace LLAD 1983-1. With approval of the new district, the District Engineer informed the County Assessor that going forward only LLAD No. 2025-1 would levy assessments. While LLAD No. 1983-1 is inactive, it is appropriate to dissolve it to remove any potential confusion in future years. DISCUSSION The Landscaping and Lighting Act of 1972 provides the mechanism to dissolve districts. Pursuant to Section 22610 of the Act, the Town Council must first adopt a resolution of intent to dissolve the district and then, at a subsequent meeting, adopt a second resolution actually approving the dissolution. This second resolution will appear on the Town Council agenda on April 21. No posted or mailed notice is required. PUBLIC CONTACT Posting of the meeting agenda serves as notice to the general public.
