Dear Mayor and Members of the Town Council,
I am writing to express my support for the Town’s continued exploration of a regulated cannabis retail
framework in our community.
For nearly five years, America’s Finest Hemp Co. operated responsibly in downtown Danville,
contributing to our local economy. The recent changes under AB 8 were not the result of safety failures;
rather, the State moved hemp-derived products into the more strictly regulated cannabis framework to
ensure a controlled and standardized environment. This shift was intended to increase oversight and
safety, not to eliminate responsible local businesses.
Cannabis policy has evolved significantly, and today’s market is highly regulated, age-restricted, and
monitored. Many adults responsibly choose these products as alternatives to prescription opioids, sleep
or anxiety medications, and alcohol.
As a community known for thoughtful leadership, Danville has an opportunity to approach this issue
proactively. Exploring what cannabis retail could look like—with strict standards and local zoning
control—allows us to shape a policy that reflects our values and charm rather than reacting to external
changes.
I respectfully encourage the Town Council to continue developing a regulated cannabis retail framework
so that responsible businesses like America’s Finest Hemp Co. have a path forward under the new state
laws.
Thank you for your time, consideration, and service to our community.
Sincerely,
William and Abby Trombino
