I am traveling on business and unable to make the council meeting.
Regarding: 1.1 Discussion of legal issues associated with allowing storefront cannabis retail uses in Danville
(R. Ewing),

Marijuana is legal. So is pornography. That does not mean Danville needs to either encourage or actively
support these things by selling weed or having strip joints and adult book stores in our town. I am a libertarian
by nature and believe in freedom. I do not believe that marijuana is a net positive to society, however. The NYT
article provides more evidence than I could, and the council should consider the points in that article before
approving the measure.
