Hi Newell,
My name is Dan Lynch, I was one of the coaches on Danville Little League's 13U World
Series team which you personally did so much to support. I am hoping you are doing well
and appreciate your contributions to our town.
I read today the Danville Council is considering permitting retail drug sales in
Danville. Please oppose this change as it contradicts the values which have prevailed in
Danville since I grew up here (and long before). We need a society that is focused and
alert, not playing around with starter drugs like cannabis. Removing the stigma of drugs
has increased their usage and been terrible for brain health, productivity and has reduced
overall wellbeing. The data is irrefutable, drug legalization has been horrible for society as
a whole. I hope Danville will stand on the right side of this issue.
I know you and the Council will thoughtfully consider this change.
