14.Description of Overall Project:
Implementation of video detection devices and Roadway Markings at key intersections per Bike Master plan to boost
safety and signal responsiveness. These systems detect cyclists and trigger safe crossings. It targets high-priority sites
via community input, aligning with goals for safe facilities linking trails, reducing conflicts, and encouraging cycling.

are ineligible uses of TDA funds.)
The proposed scope includes final engineering design, permitting, procurement, and installation of video detection
devices, plus thermoplastic transportation facilities (e.g., durable markings) for enhanced cycling safety. This covers
equipment acquisition, site preparation, signal integration, testing, and activation. It excludes ineligible activities

-The awarded funding of $162,500 from TDA FY21 for the "Diablo Road (west) Bicycle
Facility Improvements" project, which included constructing new Class II bicycle lanes to
close gaps, widening and restriping existing lanes, installing high-visibility pavement
markings such as bicycle boxes and conflict zone treatments, and upgrading trail access
and signage.
