Meeting Summary
September 11, 2025 - DRAFT
1. CALL TO ORDER
The regular meeting of the Danville Design Review Board was called to order at 5:00
p.m., at the Town Offices, 500 La Gonda Way, Danville, CA
Board Attendance: Robert Combs, Chair
Joel Atwater, Alternate Board Member
Michaela Luxton, Board Member
Lou Palandrani, Board Member
Kevin Wong, Board Member
Absent: Chris Trujillo, Vice Chair
Staff Attendance: David Crompton, Chief of Planning
2. CHANGES TO THE ORDER OF THE AGENDA
There were no changes.
3. FOR THE GOOD OF THE TOWN
There were no public comments.
4. ACTION ITEMS
4.1 Consider approval of the Meeting Summary from the Design Review Board
regular meeting of July 24, 2025.
Board member Atwater made a motion to approve the July 14, 2025 Summary
of Actions and it was seconded by Board Member Palandrani.
Motion carried 5-0-0-1; Vice Chair Trujillo absent

5. DESIGN REVIEW ITEMS
5.1 Review Development Plan request DEV25-02 to allow the development of a
four-story 348,112 square foot 200-unit mixed use multifamily residential
apartment and commercial buildings on a 3.89-acre site located at 101-119 Town
& Country Drive (Project Planner: David Crompton).
David Crompton, Chief of Planning, introduced the project and presented the
staff report.
Ray Welter, LPAS Architecture, presented the project and answered questions
from Design Review Board Members.
Sharon Marich addressed the Board and voiced her concerns about certain
design aspects of the project.
Board Member Palandrani made a motion to approve the project, which was
seconded by Board Member Luxton incorporating the following comments:
Add additional articulation to the flat three-story elevations near the garage
entry, around the northern corner, and at the south elevation.
Look for opportunities to incorporate additional building breaks such as
the break proposed at the northwest corner.
Save as many of the existing mature redwood trees along Town & Country
as possible.
Plant 48” box trees as replacement trees along Town & Country Drive.
All exterior lighting should be down directed, including on the roof top
lounge area.
Propose alternate balcony railing which provides better screening of the
balcony areas.
Redesign the northeast corner of the commercial building to remain to
upgrade this elevation as it will be a focal point for the building.
Consider adding hipped roof and gables on the south elevation, similar to
the north elevation.
Motion carried 5-0-0-1; Vice Chair Trujillo absent
