Mayor Morgan stated that the Brown Act requires that, before any
agreement specifying salary or compensation for the Town Manager can
become effective, the Town Council must verbally summarize those
changes. Resolution No. 39-2025, would approve an employment
agreement for our new Town Manager, Tai Williams. The agreement
contains the following terms: the term of the agreement is for two years,
from July 1, 2025 until June 30, 2027; in year one of the agreement, salary
would be $265,000 and fringe benefits would be equal to $83,700, which
consists of $79,500 in pension contribution and an auto allowance of $4,200;
in year two of the agreement, the Manager would be eligible for
consideration of a performance based increase in compensation based upon
her annual evaluation. Any such change would be approved by the Town
Council by a resolution adopted at a publicly noticed Town Council
meeting. Because the Town has a defined contribution pension plan, there
are no future, unfunded liabilities associated with the agreement.
