TOWN OF DANVILLE SENIOR ADVISORY COMMISSION – SPECIAL MEETING SUMMARY OF ACTIONS - Draft Wednesday, January 22, 2025 1. CALL TO ORDER The regular meeting of the Senior Advisory Commission was called to order by Chair Moody at 4:00 p.m. in the Town Meeting Hall, 201 Front Street, Danville, CA. Commissioner Foster requested the Commissioners introduce themselves and roll was called. Present: Sandra Moody, Chair Steve Freshman, Commissioner Roxanne Foster, Commissioner Candace Hendra, Commissioner Excused: Jim Donnelly, Vice Chair 2. CHANGES TO THE ORDER OF THE AGENDA There were no changes to the order of the agenda. 3. “FOR THE GOOD OF THE TOWN” There was no public comment. CONSENT CALENDAR 4.1 Consider the approval of the Summary of Actions from the October 23, 2024, Senior Advisory Commission regular meeting and workshop. MOTION BY COMMISSIONER FOSTER, SECOND BY COMMISSIONER HENDRA, TO APPROVE THE SUMMARY OF ACTIONS FROM THE OCTOBER 23, 2024 SENIOR ADVISORY COMMISSION REGULAR MEETING AND WORKSHOP. MOTION CARRIED 4-0-0-1 5. COMMUNICATION 5.1 Senior Housing Presentation Town of Danville Chief of Planning, David Crompton, shared information about the implementation of the Town’s senior housing plan. An overview of several new senior developments, and an update on projects with construction in progress were discussed. Additional information was presented about the 2023-31 Housing Element. Mr. Compton requested to collaborate with the Senior Advisory Commission to develop an outreach plan to build awareness of age-friendly housing options and services in Danville as directed in Policy 7.3.D of the Housing Element. 5.2 The Age-Friendly Roadmap Implementation Workshop Follow-up Director Henry Perezalonso received information from the commission on their review of Chapter 4 of the Age-Friendly Roadmap, as well as information on the commission’s list of accomplishments, areas to start, stop, and continue, and additional focus areas. Senior Advisory Commission Summary of Actions January 22, 2025 Page 3 5.3 Recreation, Arts & Community Services Director’s Report Director Henry Perezalonso reported on Department activities and upcoming events. Senior Services Supervisor, Tim McGrath, gave an update on senior programs and upcoming events. 6. COMMISSIONER REPORTS AND COMMENTS Commissioners provided updates on activities and events in Danville. 7.
