Regular Meeting Summary - Draft
October 10, 2024
1. CALL TO ORDER
The special meeting of the Danville Design Review Board was called to order at 5:00
p.m., at the Town Offices, 500 La Gonda Way, Danville, CA
Board Attendance: Mark Belotz Alt., Robert Combs, Lou Palandrani, Chris
Trujillo, Kevin Wong
Absent: Afshan Hamid
Staff Attendance: David Crompton, Fred Korbmacher
2. CHANGES TO THE ORDER OF THE AGENDA – None
3. FOR THE GOOD OF THE TOWN - None
4. ITEMS FOR CONSIDERATION/ACTION
4.1 Consider approval of the Meeting Summary from the Design Review Board
regular meeting of September 26, 2024
Board Member Combs made a motion to approve the meeting summary which
was seconded by Board Member Palandrani. Board Member Trujillo abstained
due to absence at the previous meeting.
Motion carried 4-0-1-1
5. DESIGN REVIEW ITEMS
5.1 Review and approve final building permit plans for a previously approved 167-
unit multifamily development located at 3020 Fostoria Way (the Borel property).
The development includes 144 for-sale townhomes and 43 apartment units to be
affordable to low and/or very-low-income households (Project Planner: David
Crompton).
David Crompton, Chief of Planning, introduced the project and presented the
staff report.

Garrett Hinds, Applicant, answered questions from board members.
Decision: Board Member Combs made a motion to approve the final building
permit plans as presented, which was seconded by Board Member Trujillo.
Motion carried 5-0-0-1
5.2 Review and approve final building permit plans for a previously approved nine-
lot single-family development for Ponderosa Homes. The project includes nine
single-family homes, two of which have ADU’s to satisfy the affordable
requirement. The site is located at the terminus of Mattos Court off Woodside
Drive (Project Planner: Fred Korbmacher).
Fred Korbmacher, project planner, made the presentation and answered
questions.
Jeff Shrader, Applicant, presented the project and answered questions from DRB.
Decision: Board Member Belotz made a motion to approve the final building
permit plans as presented, which was seconded by Board Member Combs.
Motion carried 5-0-0-1
6. COMMUNICATIONS
6.2 Recruitment for volunteer positions open to Danville residents. Terms begin
January 1, 2025:
a. Planning Commission: 4 regular members; 1 alternate member
b. Design Review Board: 1 regular member
c. Heritage Resource Commission: 3 regular members; 1 licensed
architect
d. Contra Costa Mosquito and Vector Control District: 1 member
