Parks, Recreation and Arts Commission – Regular Meeting
SUMMARY OF ACTIONS
December 11, 2024
1. CALL TO ORDER
The regular meeting of the Danville Parks, Recreation and Arts Commission was
called to order by Chair Neary at 6:30 p.m. in the Town Meeting Hall, 201
Front Street, Danville. CA.
Present: Charles Neary, Chair
Carol Mascali, Vice Chair
Kevin Donovan, Commissioner
Adam Falcon, Commissioner
Jane Joyce, Commissioner
Joe Lindsey, Commissioner
Jenna Mesic, Commissioner
Absent: Addison Brown, Youth Commissioner
2. CHANGES TO THE ORDER OF THE AGENDA
There were no changes.
3. “FOR THE GOOD OF THE TOWN”
Mark Belotz introduced himself and stated he is the Town Council liaison to the
Recreation, Arts, and Community Services Department. Councilmember Belotz
looks forward to working with the commissioners.
4. CONSENT CALENDAR
4.1 Approval of the Summary of Actions from October 9, 2024 Parks,
Recreation and Arts Commission Regular meeting

5. PRESENTATIONS
5.1 Consider Approval of the Proposed All-Wars Memorial Enhancements
Director Dave Casteel introduced the All-Wars Memorial Foundation and
their proposal for the enhancements of the memorial at Oak Hill Park.
Vice President of the All-Wars Memorial Foundation, Robert Storer, and
Landscape Architect, Nemo Gonzalez, both presented the enhancements of
the All-Wars Memorial foundation.
The following board members of the All-Wars Memorial Foundation and
veterans in the audience came to the stand spoke of the significance of the
proposal of the enhancements: Bill Baker, Dennis Giacovelli, Daniel Dunn,
Josh Zebley, David Behring, Eric Ardell, Denny Secrest, and John Garfield
Reese.
Commissioner Neary asked for clarification for the request for an additional
directional sign for the memorial and for it to be specified for approval.

MESIC, TO APPROVE THE PROPOSAL OF THE ALL-WARS MEMORIAL
ENHANCEMENTS WITH THE ADDITIONAL DIRECTIONAL SIGN
5.2 Recreation, Arts, & Community Services Director’s Report
Recreation Superintendent Jessica Wallner presented the Director’s Report
highlighting the events and activities that took place throughout the month
of November.

7. ADJOURNMENT
The regular meeting of the Danville Parks, Recreation and Arts
Commission was adjourned at 8:33 p.m.
