Dear Danville City Council,
The California Housing Defense Fund (“CalHDF”)submits this letter to remind the Town of its
obligation to abide by all relevant state housing laws when evaluating the appeal against the
proposed 99-unit housing development project for seniors at 425 El Pintado Road.These
laws include the Housing Accountability Act (“HAA”),the Density Bonus Law (“DBL”),and
California Environmental Quality Act (“CEQA”)guidelines.
The HAA provides the project legal protections.It requires approval of zoning and general
plan compliant housing development projects unless
requested concessions and waivers with respect to height,FAR,drive aisle width,and
retaining wall height and setback,unless it makes written
