The BAC along with Alan Kalin has helped us help Danville. The following three are on top of our list. • I was almost struck by a vehicle at the intersection of El Cerro Blvd and Diablo Rd. The signal light had some timing issue. We reported this to Alan and it was fixed soon thereafter. • We were riding on Camino Tassajara and the bicycle lane and sidewalk were inaccessible because of construction. We were forced to ride in traffic. I suggested to Alan that if the bike lane is going to be closed, than one of the traffic lanes should be closed for vehicles. Alan brought our videos and email to the BAC. The next time we encountered this same situation, one of the traffic lanes were indeed closed. • We ride weekly to Mount Diablo and it is a blessing to have the new bike turnouts when ascending. Although not technically Danville, the roads surrounding Mount Diablo South Gate are in Danville. Alan had a major impact on getting the turnouts completed. I think Alan's hard work and dedication is what our community needs. Dublin and San Ramon have new (soon to be) pedestrian bridges. Danville could probably utilize one in the future. Best regards, Kim and Rodney
