SUBJECT: Preparation for the 43 Annual Mayor’s Installation and Community

Service Awards
This annual event will take place on Wednesday, December 4, 2024. Preparation includes
Town Council discussion at each of the upcoming Study Sessions. Attached is the draft
agenda for your review, as well as the recommendations received for the Michael K.
Shimansky Community Service Award. The Town Council will select three nominees to
forward to the Shimansky family to consider.
October 8: Review draft agenda; select three recommendations for the Michael
K. Shimansky Community Service Award
November 12: Select Town Council Community Service Award recipients; confirm
award presenters; finalize agenda; determine protocol for
presentation of awards in the event of no-show
(e.g., mail, deliver,
present at public meeting and by whom? new liaison or previous liaison)
December 4: Event: 6:00 p.m., Village Theatre, 233 Front Street, Danville
