Danville Parks, Recreation and Arts Commission Special Meeting Summary of Actions November 15, 2023 1. CALL TO ORDER The special meeting of the Danville Parks, Recreation and Arts Commission was called to order by Chair Mesic at 6:30 p.m. in the Town Meeting Hall, 201 Front Street, Danville. CA. Present: Addison Brown, Youth Representative Kevin Donovan, Commissioner Jane Joyce, Commissioner (Arrived at 6:44 pm) Joe Lindsey, Commissioner Carol Mascali, Commissioner Charles Neary, Vice Chair Jenna Mesic, Chair Excused: Randall Diamond, Commissioner and Adam Falcon, Commissioner 2. CHANGES TO THE ORDER OF THE AGENDA There were no changes to the Order of the Agenda. 3. "FOR THE GOOD OF THE TOWN" There was no public comment. 4. ADMINISTRATIVE STAFF REPORTS 4.1 Diablo Vista Play Area and Multi -Sport Skate Park Renovation, CIPs B- 616 & B-560 - Project Update and Budget Discussion Director Henry Perezalonso introduced Diane Friedman, Development Services Director, to provide an update on reviewing project elements for the Diablo Vista DocuSign Envelope ID: D0875736-D480-4DF3-B87F-D09D30571B19 Parks, Recreation and Arts Commission Special Meeting Summary of Actions November 15, 2023 play area and multi -sport skate park renovation that identify ways to work within budget constraints and timelines, bringing the project in line with the available budget. Chair Mesic opened the item for Commissioners questions. Chair Mesic opened the item to public comment. Karen Stepper, Danville Resident, spoke in support of lighting and providing safety for the Diablo Vista Park and multi -skate park. Pete Brown, Danville Resident, spoke in support of the Diablo Vista Park Renovation Project and supporting additional avenues for funding. Chair Mesic closed the item for public comment. Chair Mesic opened the item for Commissioner comments. MOTION BY COMMISSIONER JOYCE, SECOND BY YOUTH REPRESENTATIVE BROWN TO APPROVE UTILIZING FIBAR AS AN ALTERNATIVE SAFETY SURFACE AND THE PROPOSED ITEMS TO BE LISTED AS OPTIONAL BID ITEMS WITH LIGHTING AS A HIGH PRIORITY MOTION CARRIED 7-0-0-2; COMMISSIONER DIAMOND AND FALCON EXCUSED 5.
