Mayor Stepper, Vice Mayor Fong, and members of the Town Council,
We are writing you today regarding the upcoming appeal of the application for development of
the property noted above.
We have been residents of Anderson Ranch for 16 years. During that time, Tom has served as a
board member on the Anderson Ranch HOA Board of Directors, including one term as an officer.
When we purchased our home, we were told the property surrounding our development,
including the aforementioned Parcel B was dedicated open space and we were assured it would
never be developed. This assurance was bolstered by an explanation that the surrounding land
was used to satisfy lot size zoning requirements that allowed the development to be built, and
terrain and hillside stability issues also prevented development of the property.
Needless to say, we were shocked to hear someone is now applying to develop this property.
This is especially disturbing since prior to and during our time here the HOA has had to deal with
hillside instability issues. It is also alarming since almost daily I look out my window at hillsides
in the area that are experiencing progressively expanding landslides — this was especially acute
during the periods of heavy rain.
We understand the upcoming meeting on June 181 is to consider an appeal over the application
and the issue of easement. We have never been asked nor have we ever granted easement to this
property. The first we heard of any questions about an easement to the property was during the
unfolding of this increasingly frustrating matter.
As long-time residents of Danville, we request and strongly urge you to reject this plan. The
danger posed by homes above ours on unstable land is a frightening prospect, especially with the
proliferation of young families directly below this area. In addition to this nightmarish existence,
the congestion caused by additional traffic in and out of our single access development is
something we would not relish.
We thank you for your service to our community. And appreciate your consideration of these
concerns.
Regards,
Andrea & Tom Wilkes
