My name is Theresa Vodopich and I'm a resident of the Greenbrook community. I am
in favor of expanding the pickleball courts at Osage because they allow for the
community to enjoy an outdoor activity. Numerous residents have begun playing and
wait for courts to open up. This would provide any opportunity for more people to
engage in the activity as well as enjoy Osage Park. It's a wonderful sport that any
person can enjoy and giving access to more courts allows more people to enjoy what the
Greenbrook community can offer.
Thank you,
Theresa Vodopich

Subject: Additional pickleball courts at Osage Park support
Hello,
I am a house owner in Danville. I am writing to support the installation of additional pickleball courts at
Osage Park. Our family has been in the neighborhood for almost 30 years. I am retired and picked up
pickleball as an exercise to stay active and healthy. I actually played my first pickleball game at Osage
Park. When I was working full time and raising a child with special needs, I was so busy and did not have
any social activities. In fact, I lost contact with many of my friends during that time. After retirement, I
got a chance to learn pickleball at Osage Park. I met many new friends there and enjoy going there to
play and socialize with other pickleball players. It has been such an enjoyable and relaxing time every
time I go there. With pickleball being more popular, it is getting crowded over at Osage Park. It will be
great if more courts are built to fulfill the need for the community who love to play pickleball. As I can't
afford to pay fees to play other sports such as golf, playing pickleball is free and the Osage Park
pickleball courts are easy to access for everyone living in the community. We greatly hope that more
pickleball courts are installed at Osage Park. Thank you.

Subject: Support For Pickleball Expansion at Osage Park
Hello Marie Sunseri. My name is Mike Fitzgerald and I have been a Danville resident since 2002. I have lived in the
Shadow Hills, Greenbrook and Crow Canyon neighborhoods.
I support the planned pickleball expansion at Osage Park. There are only 2 public courts dedicated to pickleball in
our entire community. Not everyone wishes to belong to a private club or has access to courts through their HOA.
The wait times can be as long as 20-25 minutes a game during busy times. This is unacceptable for frequent players
such as myself.
The game of pickleball is very fun, social and brings people together. It provides moderate exercise to people of all
ages and abilities. In our current times, it is becoming more and more important for individuals to find various ways
to bring more joy into their lives. This is one of the reasons the game of pickleball has become so popular.
Please forward my email to all appropriate Danville City Council members.
Thank you.

We, the Tri -Valley Pic klebalt Club, support the Town of Danville with your
efforts to build and support eight Pickleball courts at Osage Park. The game
has exploded in popularity since the pandemic and there is no reason to
believe the trend will not diminish. The Tri -Valley Pickleball Club has over 500
active members and many are residents of the Danville and San Ramon area.
This form of recreation is one of the few sports in which all ages and abilities
may take part in. The game enables participants to remain physically and
mentally fit. In addition, the social aspect of the game cannot be taken for
granted as everyone will meet new people and potentially develop lifelong
friendships. The game is also cost effective due to the small footprint of court
surface area and the minor costs to maintain the courts. This project is a win-
win for the Town of Danville and its residents.

Subject: Town Meeting 5-21-2024. Resolution No 29.-24. Expansion of Pickleball courts
Hello,
> I cannot make the meeting but I wanted to express my support in favor of adding
more pickleball courts to Osage.
> I am a Danville resident on the north side of Osage.
> I read the opposition's points and had a few thoughts. One of their complaints is
parking and how more courts will cause parking issues for the school, drop-off, and
other Osage users. The reality is that there are often 30-40 people waiting for courts (on
weekends at least) so people are there already ...there shouldn't be much of an increase.
I often walk to play pickleball but the times I've driven and parked I have never had a
problem finding parking in the small lot by the courts. Except when there are soccer or
rugby tournaments but that's not pickleball players fault. And pickleball players are
smart enough to figure out that the last thing they will want to do is arrive during
school drop-off or pick-up times.
> In a similar vein, they've complained that more courts will cause more talking and
socialization. I would say probably not since everyone will be playing rather than
standing around and waiting for courts!
> I know they are not complaining about pickleball as a great sport, just the location,
but I would then just say that Osage is a family park with plenty of loud sports and
fans, such as soccer and baseball families cheering and screaming, so it seems unfair just
to target pickleball as a cause of noise.
> There are new courts in San Ramon so that already has taken away some of the need
for other towns to use Osage courts. Plus courts in Pleasanton, Livermore and Walnut
Creek. So new courts at Osage shouldn't necessarily bring in hordes from other towns
like they claim. And certainly not "unsavory" types as some of the opposition have
claimed.
> I appreciate the time and attention you've devoted to this. Thanks for listening!

City Clerk Marie Sunseri,
My name is Sarah Joo, and I'm in support for the expansion of the Osage Pickleball courts. I'm a recently new
pickleball player, but already I can see the benefits of the game upon the community around it. It's a sport where
anyone can walk into the court and immediately start making friends and forming a community I can especially see
how this is very healthy upon the elderly where exercise and social experiences improve their quality of life. It is
also becoming more popular with younger folks, and has a sweet way of bringing together people of all ages,
socioeconomic statuses, and professions in a way I haven't seen before. Thank you for reading and I hope you
support this endeavor.
Best,
Sarah Joo

Hello Marie,
This email is in regards to the Pickleball discussion at the May 21st 5:00 PM Town
Council Regular meeting.
I support expanding Pickleball courts at Osage Station Park.
My support is for the following reasons:
• Pickleball has had a profound and
positive impact on my life, physical and mental health.
• There is a significant shortage of public Pickleball courts in Danville. Wait times to
play at Osage are frequently 20+ minutes.
• This is what people do now, they play Pickleball. It's all over the news, social media,
and sporting publications. It's very popular. Other areas of the US are building huge
pickleball complexes.
• I find myself driving to other towns, fighting through school and commute traffic, to
play pickleball- where there isn't a "wait time" to get on court.

• Osage Station Park is centrally located and easily accessible. It would be the perfect
spot for more courts. In my experience, eight total courts would be ideal.
Please know that I am grateful for the extensive effort put forth by the Town Council
and all those involved. Let's make this expansion a reality.
Thank you,

Hello,
I am a resident of Danville and I am sending this email in support to the expansion of
the pickleball courts at Osage park. I am a regular that plays mainly on the weekends.
Not only do I got to get exercise but also there for the community of people that gather
there to play. I will say we typically have so many people that the wait to play can be
quite long so adding more courts would allow more people to play at one time. Both of
my boys have played sports at the park and so I feel that expanding the courts would be
an added benefit not a hinder on the sports already being played at the park. I am for
more courts and more people staying active and bringing the Danville community
together.

Please add more pickleball courts at Osage Park. Pickleball is the fastest growing sport in the U.S. It's an easy and
enjoyable game for both kids and adults to play. This game fosters community and connection, as well as being a
healthy form of exercise. It's become integral to the health and social life of many people in the Bay Area.

Subject: Pickleball Court Expansion at Osage Station Park - Letter of Support
Dear City Clerk Marie Sunseri,
My name is Lucas, and I am a regular user of the pickleball courts at Osage Park. I am
writing to express my strong support for the proposed expansion of the pickleball
facilities.
As a member of the pickleball community who enjoys this park, I believe that the
expansion will be really beneficial to the community by providing more opportunities for
residents to engage in this fun and healthy sport. I am confident that the expansion will
also promote a more active and vibrant community in Danville while also supporting
local businesses thanks to the attraction of the courts.
I have reviewed the plans for the expansion and am satisfied that the proposed sound
barriers will effectively address any noise concerns. Additionally, I believe that the
existing parking facilities at Osage Park are sufficient to accommodate the anticipated
increase in usage.
Thank you for considering my support for this important project.
Sincerely, Lucas
