Subject: Please preserve Osage Park
I'm writing to add my name to a list of concerned citizens against adding additional pickleball courts to Osage Park.
The frenzied drivers late to their existing matches is already causing dangerous conditions for our young citizens
who both go to school at Charlotte Wood as well as those who use the other Osage facilities for recreational or
relaxation family activities. Not to mention the over crowded parking lots.
Please find an alternative location.
Thank you,
Tom Aarts

Subject: Concerns Regarding Pickleball Courts at Osage Park
Dear Town Council,
I'm reaching out to share my strong opposition to the proposed installation of Pickleball
courts at Osage Park. While I understand the appeal of the game, I believe there are
significant drawbacks to locating the courts at our beloved park.

SUPPLEMENTAL CORRESPONDENCE - in opposition

First and foremost, the noise generated by Pickleball gameplay can be disruptive to the
peaceful atmosphere of our neighborhood. As someone who has a Pickleball court in
their backyard, I can attest to the loud and continuous sound of the ball hitting the
racket back and forth. Introducing multiple courts at Osage Park would subject nearby
residents to this constant racket, detracting from their enjoyment of their homes.
Additionally, the issue of parking cannot be overlooked. Osage Park already has limited
parking spaces, and the addition of Pickleball courts would inevitably attract more
visitors, leading to further congestion. With the overflow of cars potentially spilling onto
neighboring streets like El Capitan, where parking is already a challenge due to resident
vehicles, the situation would only worsen.
While I recognize the popularity of Pickleball and the need for more courts in our
community, I firmly believe that Osage Park is not the appropriate location. Alternative
parks such as Sycamore or Oak Hill offer more space and are not surrounded by homes,
mitigating the potential noise and parking issues.
I urge decision -makers to listen to the concerns of residents and reconsider the
proposed location of the Pickleball courts.
Thank you for your attention to this matter.
