Meeting Summary
February 15, 2024
1. CALL TO ORDER
The regular meeting of the Danville Design Review Board was called to order at 5:00
p.m., at the Town Offices, 500 La Gonda Way, Danville, CA
Board Attendance: Mark Belotz Alt., Afshan Hamid, Chris Trujillo, Kevin Wong
Absent: Robert Combs, Lou Palandrani
Staff Attendance: Riley Anderson -Barrett, Yajaira Duran, Henry Perezalonso,
Bob Russell
2. CHANGES TO THE ORDER OF THE AGENDA - Continue 4.1 to a future meeting
3. FOR THE GOOD OF THE TOWN - None
4. PRESENTATIONS
4.1 Service Award: presentation to Kevin Wong by Councilmember Morgan -
Continued to a future meeting
5. ACTION ITEMS
5.1 Consider approval of the Meeting Summary from the Design Review Board
regular meeting of January 11, 2024
Board Member Trujillo made a motion to approve the meeting summary which
was seconded by Board Member Belotz. Board Member Wong abstained due to
absence at the previous meeting.
Motion carried 3-0-1-2
6. DESIGN REVIEW ITEMS
6.1 Review and recommend approval of the architecture, colors, and materials for
CIP B-629 Arts District Maker's Space (Project Planners: Bob Russell and Henry
Perezalonso)

Henry Perezalonso; Recreation, Arts & Community Services Director,
introduced the project and presented the staff report.
Ted Catlin, Architect, presented the project and answered questions from Design
Review Board Members.
Board Member Trujillo commented that the project will be a good addition to
other Town -owned buildings and other Board Members voiced approval. Board
Members asked questions about signage, exterior doors, street lighting, and
parking.
Decision: Board Member Hamid made a motion to approve the project, which
was seconded by Board Member Belotz.
Motion carried 4-0-0-2
6.2 Review and recommend approval of the Development Plan request DEV24-0003
to allow a new patio roof spanning 398 square feet over the pre-existing outdoor
seating area at Danville Harvest, situated at 500 Hartz Avenue (Project Planner:
Yajaira Duran)
Yajaira Duran, Planning Technician, introduced the project and presented the
staff report.
Jonathan James, Architect, presented the project and answered questions from
Design Review Board Members.
Board Members asked questions about the irrigation of potted plants, processing
this project as a non -historic building, gutters, and shading from the sun. Board
Members commented that the style and design is consistent with the existing
building.
Decision: Board Member Hamid recused herself due to affiliation with the
architect. Board Member Trujillo made a motion to approve the project, which
was seconded by Board Member Belotz.
