Danville Planning Commission – Regular Meeting Summary of Actions - Draft October 10, 2023 1. CALL TO ORDER The regular meeting of the Danville Planning Commission was called to order by Chair Radich at 5:00 p.m. in the Town Meeting Hall, 201 Front Street, Danville, CA. Present: Paul Radich, Chair Mark Graham, Vice Chair Archie Bowles, Commissioner Robert Combs, Commissioner Mary Grace Houlihan, Commissioner Ken Mintz, Commissioner Lou Palandrani, Commissioner Excused: Chris Trujillo, Chair 2. CHANGES TO THE ORDER OF THE AGENDA There were no changes to the order of the agenda. 3. FOR THE GOOD OF THE TOWN There were no public comments. 4. CONSENT CALENDAR 4.1 Consider approval of the Summary of Actions from the regular Planning Commission meeting of September 12, 2023 4.2 Consider approval of Resolution No. 2023-12 approving Development Plan request DEV23-0013 to allow for an addition and remodel of a single family Danville Planning Commission – Regular Meeting Summary of Actions - Draft October 10, 2023 2 residence that requires an exception to allow for a height of 34 feet, while the maximum allowable height is 28 feet. The property is located at 28 Sky Terrace which is partially located within a Town-identified Scenic Hillside area (Project Planner: Riley Anderson-Barrett) Item 4.2 removed from the Consent Calendar for further discussion. MOTION BY COMMISSIONER COMBS, SECOND BY COMMISSIONER GRAHAM TO APPROVE THE SUMMARY OF ACTIONS FROM THE REGULAR PLANNING COMMISSION MEETING OF SEPTEMBER 12, 2023 MOTION CARRIED 7-0-0-0; COMMISSIONER TRUJILLO EXCUSED 4.2 Consider approval of Resolution No. 2023-12 approving Development Plan request DEV23-0013 to allow for an addition and remodel of a single family residence that requires an exception to allow for a height of 34 feet, while the maximum allowable height is 28 feet. Chair Radich opened the item for public comments. There were no public comments. MOTION BY COMMISSIONER COMBS, SECOND BY COMMISSIONER MINTZ TO APPROVE DEVELOPMENT PLAN REQUEST DEV23-0013 TO ALLOW FOR AN ADDITION AND REMODEL OF A SINGLE FAMILY RESIDENCE THAT REQUIRES AN EXCEPTION TO ALLOW FOR A HEIGHT OF 34 FEET, WHILE THE MAXIMUM ALLOWABLE HEIGHT IS 28 FEET. THE PROPERTY IS LOCATED AT 28 SKY TERRACE WHICH IS PARTIALLY LOCATED WITHIN A TOWN-IDENTIFIED SCENIC HILLSIDE AREA MOTION CARRIED 6-1-0-0; COMMISSIONER HOULIHAN OPPOSED 5. COMMUNICATIONS Danville Planning Commission – Regular Meeting Summary of Actions - Draft October 10, 2023 3 5.1 Planning update by Chief of Planning David Crompton Mr. Crompton informed the Commission that a second draft of the Housing Element has been submitted to the state. He also informed them that Auburn Lounge will hold a special event including a live band on October 29, 2023. 6. COMMISSIONER REPORTS 6.1 Commissioner updates There were no Commissioner updates. 7.
