SUMMARY OF ACTIONS
September 19, 2023 - DRAFT
1. CALL TO ORDER
The regular meeting of the Danville Town Council was called to order by Mayor
Storer at 5:00 p.m. in the Town Meeting Hall, 201 Front Street, Danville, CA.
Present: Robert Storer, Mayor
Karen Stepper, Vice Mayor
Newell Arnerich, Councilmember
Dave Fong, Councilmember
Renee Morgan, Councilmember
2. PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE TO THE FLAG
The pledge of allegiance to the flag was led by Mayor Storer.
3. CHANGES TO THE ORDER OF THE AGENDA
There were no changes to the order of the agenda.
4. FOR THE GOOD OF THE TOWN
Lisa Blackwell invited the community to participate in upcoming San Ramon
Valley Education Foundation events.
Lisa Blackwell encouraged the Town to reconsider adopting a safe gun storage
ordinance.
5. CONSENT CALENDAR
Vice Mayor Stepper removed item 5.5 for discussion.
5.1 Consider approval of the Summary of Actions from the regular Town
Council meeting of September 5, 2023

Manager to execute a contract with Avidex Industry, LLC to upgrade the

Events Support Policy

ARNERICH, TO APPROVE THE CONSENT CALENDAR, WITH THE EXCEPTION OF
ITEM 5.5

ITEM 5.5 CONSIDER ADOPTION OF RESOLUTION NO. 65-2023, AUTHORIZING
THE TOWN MANAGER TO EXECUTE A CONTRACT WITH AVIDEX INDUSTRY,
LLC TO UPGRADE THE AUDIO/ VIDEO TECHNOLOGY IN THE TOWN MEETING
HALL REMOVED FOR DISCUSSION
Vice Mayor Stepper expressed concern regarding the status and dysfunction of the
equipment in the Town Meeting Hall and suggested further Town Council discussion of
this item at a future study session.
Assistant Town Manager Tai Williams presented the staff report and status of the
functionality of the equipment in the Town Meeting Hall.
Matt Hull, Information Technology Analyst, provided information on the proposed
project that addresses immediate issues with the current technology at the Town Meeting
Hall and responded to questions from the Town Council.

Councilmember Arnerich expressed support for delaying action until the Town Council
has a study session discussion to determine what is to be accomplished with a technology
upgrade.
Mayor Storer opened the item to public comment.
There were no speakers.
Mayor Storer closed the item to public comment.
The Town Council directed staff to agendize this item for Town Council discussion at a
future study session prior to Town Council approval.

6. COMMUNICATIONS
6.1 Recruitment announcement by City Clerk Marie Sunseri for positions open
to Danville residents interested in volunteering. Terms begin January 1,
2024: Heritage Resource Commission and County Connection Citizens'
Advisory Committee
Marie Sunseri announced the recruitment.
6.2 Legislative update by Management Analyst Cat Bravo
Cat Bravo provided the update.

7. ADMINISTRATIVE STAFF REPORTS
7.1 Consider adoption of Resolution No. 67-2023, reinstating parking fees for
the Downtown Danville Employee Permit Parking Program effective
January 1, 2024, to December 31, 2024
Adam Cleary, Transportation Program Specialist, presented the staff report
and responded to questions from the Town Council.
Mayor Storer opened the item to public comment.
Jerilyn Nelson stated that she hopes that parking permits are limited to
employees and not available to general residents.
Judy Lloyd stated that she did not receive any feedback from the Chamber
of Commerce members.
Mayor Storer closed the item to public comment.

MORGAN, TO ADOPT RESOLUTION NO. 67-2023, REINSTATING PARKING FEES
FOR THE DOWNTOWN DANVILLE EMPLOYEE PERMIT PARKING PROGRAM
EFFECTIVE JANUARY 1, 2024, TO DECEMBER 31, 2024
