PROCLAMATION
NATIONAL NIGHT OUT
WHEREAS, the National Association of Town Watch (NATM sponsors a national community-building
campaign on Tuesday,August 1, 2023, entitled "National Night Out"; and
WHEREAS, this year "National Night Out" celebrates 40 years of community-building that promotes police-
community partnerships and neighborhood camaraderie to make our neighborhoods safer and more caring places
to live; and
WHEREAS, the "National Night Out" Campaign provides an opportunihj for neighbors in Danville to join
more than 38 million neighbors across approximately 17,000 communities from all 50 states, US Territories,
and military bases worldwide, and
WHEREAS, "National Night Out"enhances relationships between neighbors and laza enforcement, creating a
true sense of community through neighborhood events, cookouts, safety demonstrations, and block parties,and
WHEREAS, it is essential that all neighbors of Danville come together with police and work together to build a
safer, more caring community, now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, that the Danville Town Council does hereby proclaim August 1, 2023 as "National Night Out"
and urges all citizens to join the National Association of Tozun Watch in support of the 4001 Annual National
Night Out on Tuesday, August 1, 2023.
