STRENGTHEN COMMUNITY IMAGE AND SENSE OF PLACEOngoing summer maintenance activities at Hap Magee Ranch Park include pressure washing the picnic area and completing patching and repainting of the back door of the Swain house. During the Tuesday maintenance day at the dog parks, the drinking fountains were cleaned, turf bark was blown off, potholing was performed on the turf, and fence repairs were carried out in the large dog park. Graffiti removal tasks were conducted at Diab lo Vista Park's bathrooms, Sycamore Valley Park's snack shack roll-up door, Oak Hill Park's women's public bathroom, and Danville South Park's benches. This month the nets were cleaned and adjusted at Diablo Vista Park, Osage Station Park, and Monte Vista High School tennis courts. Repairs were made to the drinking fountain near the tennis courts, the doggie waste dispenser by the north side bathrooms, and the garbage enclosure at Osage Station Park. Mulch was also installed in the planting area near the south side bathrooms and the parking lot at Oak Hill Park, where the garbage enclosure was cleaned. On June 9, the Town of Danville launched its summer public art project for 2023 titled, Bound for Books. Ten unique book benches were on the patio of the Danville Library /Danville Community Center and at the Village Theatre Art Gallery where they were on view for all to see and enjoy at the Artists' Opening Reception. They were then placed at various locations in Downtown Danville and will remain up through the end of September. The benches will be auctioned off in an online auction on September 29-October 2.

Parks are a popular spot during the summer months. There were 70 picnic reservations in
just the month of June. The most popular parks are Hap Magee Ranch, Osage Station, and
Sycamore Valley due to their proximity to the playground.
