Page 03 TRAFFIC SAFETY Danville Police takes pride in utilizing data -driven approaches to conduct effective traffic enforcement. By analyzing traffic data, we gain valuable insights into high -traffic areas, accident hotspots, and patterns of traffic violations. This information allows us to strategically allocate our resources and focus our efforts where they are most needed, maximizing our impact on improving road safety. Our dedicated officers leverage data to identify and address traffic issues, enforce speed limits, curb reckless driving, and combat other traffic violations. We believe that proactive enforcement, supported by accurate data, can help reduce accidents, protect pedestrians, and foster a culture of responsible driving within our community. In addition, data analysis enables us to identify long-term trends, helping us make informed decisions about traffic infrastructure improvements and road safety initiatives. By staying informed and adaptive, we can continuously refine our enforcement strategies to better serve and protect the residents of Danville. TRAFFIC SAFETY in 2023, there were 230 reported traffic collisions, averaging slightly over 19 collisions per month. From January to May of 2023, only one month had fewer reported collisions than the previous year's average. If this trend continues, the total number of reported collisions in 2023 will surpass last year's. In response, the Danville Police Department has increased public education, collaborated closely with the Transportation Division, and enhanced enforcement in areas prone to accidents and areas with complaints of reckless driving.
