Public Safety Power Shutoff
PSPS
What is the PSPS?
“If extreme fire conditions threaten a portion of the electric system serving your community, it will be necessary for us to turn off electricity in the interest of public safety.”

PSPS Notification
How will PGE notify communities of a pending shutdown?
“Timing of Notifications (when possible)”
48-24 hours before power is turned off
4-1 hour before power is turned off
During the Public Safety Power Shutoff
Once power has been restored
“We will attempt to reach customers through calls, texts and emails using the contact information we have on file. We will also use social media channels and keep local news and radio
outlets informed and updated.”

PSPS
When will the power be turned back on?
“After the extreme weather has passed and it is safe to do so, our crews will work to inspect the lines and safely restore power to customers. If the extreme weather occurs overnight,
inspections would take place during daylight hours.
“We would make every effort to restore power within 24hours. However, depending on conditions or if any repairs are needed, outages (weather event plus restoration time) Could last between
2 to 5 days.”
