PROCLAMATION
PARKS MAKE LIFE BETTER!®MONTH
JULY 2023
WHEREAS, Parks and Recreation promotes physical, emotional, and mental health and wellness through
organized and self-directed fitness, play, and activity, and
WHEREAS, Parks and Recreation creates memorable experiences through youth sports and enrichment
activities, teen centers and programs, senior activity centers, adult fitness and enrichment programs, free
community events, and beyond,
WHEREAS, Parks and Recreation supports human development and endless learning opportunities that foster
social, intellectual, physical and emotional growth in people of all ages and abilities; and
WHEREAS, Parks and Recreation fosters social cohesiveness in communities by celebrating diversity,providing
spaces to come together peacefully, modeling compassion, promoting social equity, connecting social networks,
and ensuring all people have access to its benefits, and
WHEREAS, the T0717n of Danville urges all its residents to recognize that parks and recreation enriches the lives
of its residents and visitors, as well as adds value to the community's homes and neighborhoods, and
WHEREAS, July is Parks and Recreation Month nationally, now, therefore be it
RESOLVED, that the Danville Town Council does hereby proclaim July 2023 as "Parks Make Life Betterl®"
Month in the Town of Danville and in doing so, urges all its citizens to use and enjoy its parks, trails, open space,
facilities, and recreation opportunities.
