Yuning Liu 999 Ocho Rios Dr Danville CA 94526 May 16, 2023 Subject: Opposition to Project PUD23-0001 — 1065 and 1069 Westridge Ave Rezoning Dear Danville City, I am writing to express my opposition to the proposed rezoning project listed above. As a neighbor, I believe it is important to share my concerns and explain why I believe this rezoning and the foreseeable construction will have a negative impact on our community. Firstly, the construction of new houses would drastically alter the character and aesthetics of our neighborhood. Our community has long been admired for its peaceful ambiance and well-preserved natural surroundings. The addition of new houses would not only disrupt the harmony of the existing landscape but also increase the density of our neighborhood, potentially leading to increased noise, traffic, and congestion. Please note that traffic since the completion of Red Hawk community has generated great concern for us, not only because most of the cars to and from the uphill are speeding at least 15 miles per hour over speed limit, but also because they seem to ignore ANY community stop signs. This has created great risks for pedestrians and families with young children. Furthermore, the proposed construction may have a detrimental effect on property values. Many of us have chosen to reside in this area due to its serene environment and the value placed on privacy and spaciousness. Introducing a new house in such close proximity may lead to decreased desirability of our properties, which could, in turn, impact our ability to sell our homes in the future. Additionally, I am concerned about the potential strain on existing infrastructure. Our neighborhood's infrastructure, including roads, drainage systems, and utilities, was designed to accommodate the current number of houses. Introducing an additional house could put a burden on these systems, potentially leading to increased maintenance costs or even failures, ultimately impacting the entire 1 community. The Red Hawk is a living example of how new constructions have increased the chance of flooding. Finally, I believe it is important to consider the environmental impact of the proposed construction. Our neighborhood is home to a diverse range of flora and fauna, and the construction process could potentially disturb and destroy their habitats. It is crucial that we protect and preserve our natural environment, not only for ourselves but also for future generations to enjoy. In light of these concerns, I kindly request that the city does not approve the rezoning project. I believe it is in the best interest of our community to maintain the existing character, preserve property values, and safeguard the environment. Thank you for your attention to this matter. I trust that you will give serious consideration to the concerns raised and make a decision that respects the best interests of our community. Yours sincerely, Yuning Virus-free.www.avast.com 2
