To Danville City Council members,
As residents of our Westridge/Midland/Ocho Rios neighborhood for 23 years, we've raised our family
amongst a community of people who have collectively made conscious efforts to maintain a safe and
supportive environment for all. We're conscious of our individual impact on our neighbors and
neighborhood as a whole, and have always made decisions based on this basic criteria.
The most recent rains and resultant flooding took its toll on all of us and we've emerged abundantly
aware of how fragile the hills above us are, and how devastating alterations to that landscape have
been. We've spent endless hours helping each other avoid total disasters and are proud of what we
were able to accomplish, however we need to do everything possible to minimize future construction
and tampering with the natural hillsides. In addition, recent residential additions have increased
traffic, noise pollution, air pollution and safety concerns for everyone walking and driving around the
neighborhood.
We totally understand that the world around us is changing and that we all need to change with it;
there isn't opposition to that, however there should be limits set so we stop before causing irreparable
damage.
Please evaluate all pros & cons and in addition to the work that you've already performed, I'd like to
suggest that you target a survey to all neighbors so more input is collected. We need to maintain the
quality and safety of the Westridge neighborhood.
Thank you.
Regards,
Fred George
