May 15,2023 Larry Scharg 208 Midland Way Danville, Ca. 94526 To City Clerk: The following response is in regards to proposal to rezone Rural Residential from A-2; General Agriculture to P-1 PUD. The Project Name is PUD23-0001- 1065 and 1069 Westridge Ave Rezoning to be discussed at Danville Town Council Meeting Tuesday, May 16,2023. My name is Larry Scharg and I am a homeowner for past 28 years located at 208 Midland Way, Danville, at intersection of Westridge Ave. and Midland Way. I am opposed to granting a rezoning to P-1 for the 2 parcels named above for potential subdividing either parcel for future additional residential construction. I have been recipient of 4 majors floods and mudslides from the hillside west of Westridge Ave over the past 28 years. It seems to me that the flooding and mud slides have significantly worsened since the development of "Red Hawk" subdivision of 20 homes bordering the proposed rezoning area. These recurring incidences have damaged my property and I do not want additional homes built on the Westridge hillside and contributing adversely to my property. Secondly, the speeding cars and the increase traffic on Midland Way from Ocho Rios to "Red Hawk" has impacted the safety of walkers, children, pets, and bicyclists since the addition of 20 homes. There are repeated incidences of cars speeding and not stopping at any of the residential stop signs in the neighborhood. I personally witness these dangerous hazards daily with the current number of new homes and feel it will only worsen if there are more homes built as a result of subdividing the mentioned parcels at a future date.
