CALL TO ORDER The regular meeting of the Senior Advisory Commission was called to order by Chair Freshman at 4:00 pm. 1.1 Roll Call Chair Freshman requested the Commissioners introduce themselves and roll was called. Present: Jim Donnelly, Commissioner. Candace Hendra, Commissioner Sandra Moody, Commissioner Roxanne Foster, Vice Chair Steven Freshman, Chair 1.2 Announcements Leah Martinez provided information regarding the format of the meeting, as this was the first live meeting since 2022. 2. CHANGES TO THE ORDER OF THE AGENDA There were no changes to the Order of the Agenda. 3. "FOR THE GOOD OF THE TOWN" There were no speakers. 4.0 ITEMS FOR CONSIDERATION/ ACTION DocuSign Envelope ID: 4D5E7E59-F2B3-4315-8861-35705D972C45 4.1 Consider approval of the Summary of Actions from the October 26, 2022 Senior Advisory Commission Special Meeting. MOTION BY COMMISSIONER DONNELLY, SECOND BY COMMISSIONER HENDRA, TO APPROVE THE SUMMARY OF ACTIONS OF THE OCTOBER 26, 2022 SENIOR ADVISORY COMMISISON MEETING. MOTION CARRIED 5-0-0 REPORTS AND PRESENTATIONS 5.2 Town and Senior Center Updates Leah Martinez provided updates related to the Town, and highlighted programs and activities offered at the Senior Center. Commissioner Hendra inquired about the availability of legal and other resources for serdors and shared that the Information and Assistance hotline to Contra Costa County offices is 800-510- 2020. Ms. Martinez responded to questions from the Commissioners. Marcelle Indelicato, Town of Danville Emergency Services Manager, presented a comprehensive report on emergency preparedness, specifically due to the recent storms and weather events. 5.3 Commissioner's Reports and Comments Commissioner Moody reported on the Breakfast with Friends program at the Senior Center and suggested Commissioners take turns attending. Commissioner Donnelly provided a detailed report on the Mobility Matters program. Vice Chair Foster provided a report on current transportation programs offered in San Ramon, Pleasanton, Concord, Clayton, Martinez, Pleasant Hill, Orinda, and Lamorinda for purposes of comparison of transportation services available at each location. Chair Freshman reported on the Gathering Spaces Subcommittee. As liaison to the Parks, Recreation and Arts Commission, he provided updates regarding plans for the Town Green, and upgrades to provide a safe environment in Town. pj DocuSign Envelope ID: 4D5E7E59-F2B3-4315-8B61-35705D972C45 Commissioner Moody commented on upgrades and events at the Senior Center and suggestions for easier accessibility at the Village Theatre for those with mobility issues. Henry Perezalonso responded to questions from the Commission and described the process by which the Commission's suggestions are addressed by the Parks, Recreation and Arts Commission meetings. Commissioner's Report and Comments - Liaison Reports Commissioner Moody briefed the Commission as liaison to the Planning Commission she attended on September 13, 2022 and highlighted the various development projects around the Town, and shared the 2023-2031 Housing Element Programmable EIR Report was approved by Town Council on January 17, 2023. Vice Chair Foster briefed the Commission members on items discussed at the Town Council meeting in her role as alternate liaison. Commissioner Donnelly provided information about the upcoming Master Plan for Aging Conference on November 17, 2022, in Pleasant Hill. Commissioner Hendra commented that January will be her first time reporting on the Bicycle Advisory Commission, at which she will be presenting the Age - Friendly Roadmap in her role as liaison. Chair Freshman provided an update on items discussed at the Parks Recreation and Arts Commission and Town Council meetings in his role as liaison. 6.
