STRENGTHEN COMMUNITY IMAGE AND SENSE OF PLACE
In the aftermath of the recent major storm events, clean-up efforts continue but so do many
other projects. Work continues in both dog parks at Hap Magee Ranch Park, including aerating,
seeding, top-dressing, and installing 520 square feet of sod in the small dog park. Mulch
washed up against the fence in the large dog park was rototilled and six yards of debris was
removed in preparation for new mulch to be installed.
The basketball nets were replaced on the courts at Sycamore Valley Park, Diablo Vista Park, and
Danville South Park. Graffiti was removed in the public bathroom at Oak Hill Park three times.
10 yards of mulch were added in various landscape areas at Osage Station Park and another 10
yards were added to the entry statement at Diablo Vista Park.
STRENGTHEN SAFETY & SECURITY
All tennis court lights at Monte Vista High School were replaced and tested. Bi-weekly
playground inspections were completed at Osage Station Park, Montair School, Hap Magee
Ranch Park, Diablo Vista Park, Sycamore Valley Park, Oak Hill Park, and Danville South Park.
The front door of the maintenance shed at Osage Station Park was repaired and two cover
plates were repaired on the pathway lights at Oak Hill Park.
The porch light and motion sensor at the Swain House and Magee House at Hap Magee
Ranch Park were repaired, while the annual San Ramon Valley Fire Protection District
inspection of all houses at Hap Magee Ranch Park was completed. A pathway light was
replaced and playground fibar was cleaned in the play area at Danville South Park. Ruts in the track were repaired for the kids to run on and 1 ½ yards of tree limbs that had fallen due
to the storms were removed at Baldwin School.

PROVIDE ENVIRONMENTAL RESOURCES
At Oak Hill Park, an irrigation mainline was repaired in the parking lot and the grass was
seeded and top-dressed where trees were removed in the lower picnic area. The annual project of pruning all roses at Osage Station Park was completed, along with the pruning of 32 trees
in the picnic area. Trees around the back sports field at Baldwin School were pruned, as were
three crape myrtle trees at Greenbrook School. Removed dead plant material and pruned three
trees at Diablo Vista Park, and removed a fallen limb and pruned three crape myrtle trees near
the bocce ball courts at Sycamore Valley Park. Bi-monthly soil treatments were applied to sports field turf at Sycamore Valley Park, Diablo Vista Park, Green Valley School, Vista Grande
School, and Montair School.
PROVIDE RECREATIONAL EXPERIENCES
On Monday, February 13, the Danville Youth Council had
the pleasure of having Town Council as special guests for the February meeting. DYC thought of six carefully crafted
questions to ask the Town Council in hopes of learning
more about their decision-making process, how they deal
with differing opinions, and what they want to know about
the teens of Danville. The DYC learned a lot from Town Council and are thankful for this special opportunity.
The Town of Danville has begun recruiting for the 2023
Aquatics and Summer Camp season. New camp staff
applications will be open until May 12, and Aquatics applications will be accepted until all positions have been
filled. We encourage any community member 15 years
of age and older to apply for the most fun job in town! A
summer job can lead to the start of a career and cultivate
skills essential to longer-term success.
SUPPORT ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT
On Thursday, February 9, the Danville Senior Center held a
Valentine’s Day Cookie Decorating
party. Seniors each received four
hearts cookies to decorate from the
Danville’s very own, Old Towne Danville Bakery. Once they finish
decorating, the cookies were put
into a Valentine’s themed bag that
could be given to a loved one or for
them to enjoy themselves!
