Please support the expansion of Pickleball courts at Osage Park. This popular sport is growing and there are notdozens but hundreds of players in the Danville area. And we have only TWO public courts to play on.The community should encourage this healthy activity, that old And young are enthusiastic about. And this is one ofthe few sport activities Danville provides for seniors.
Thank you your consideration.Debbie and Ron Kosich

Gail,Want to state my support for more courts at Osage. They will be used for the entire area in around Danville, as a public park all of community should be consideredand not just the surrounding unhappy neighbors. The neighbors chose to live next to a public park, so they will have to live with what is better for the entirecommunity.Pickleball is the fastest growing and most popular Park activity in the country. Please make more courts available.Gary and Sharon Caires, proud members of the Danville Dinkers.

To the Parks, Recreation and Arts Commission:
I am writing to express my continued support for pickleball court expansion at Osage Station. I love the
game, and appreciate meeting up with new friends and enjoying this sport outdoors. As a long term
resident of Danville, I've always loved this park, using it for walks, jogs, bike rides and dog walking over
the years. I'm so appreciative of a sport that I can now also take advantage of at Osage.
Thank you for your professionalism, patience and desire to continue to evolve Osage to make it a park for
all Danville residents. I look forward to participating in public comments once the CEQA studies are
complete.

Hi Gail,
I’ve emailed in the past expressing my interest in more Pickleball courts at Osage but wanted to send another emailin support of more courts since I know the opposition has become very vocal.
I live just on the North side of Osage so do not hear any noise from the Pickleball courts. I can however hear parentscheering for soccer games and other sporting events. The pickleball noise is only heard when you are practically ontop of the courts. It is nothing compared to all the other noise and cheering coming from the park, especially onweekends. While I am somewhat sympathetic to the few neighbors that can hear the pickleball noise, again, thismust be minimal compared to all the other noise coming from a loud sports park.
I play Pickleball 1-2 times a week. Since I’m working, I usually play on weekends and that’s when there can be 30-40 people waiting for two courts. I would love to see more courts built just to accommodate the large number ofpeople that love the game.
Thanks for listening!

Good Afternoon,
I am sending this email to you today to express my support for the expansion of the number ofpickleball courts at Osage Park. I am recently retired and have begun playing pickleball thispast six months. I have lived in Danville for 28+ years. I understand there is someresistance from the nearby residents but I would think this is EXACTLY the type of resourcethe town would like to support.
Physically, it is an activity that residents of all ages can enjoy\Financially, with a minimum investment in the cost of a paddle and balls, this is open toall citizens The courts are geographically in a park that already exists so there would not be asubstantive increase in soundThere are no lights on the court so late night play is not feasibleparking already exist at the park so cars in front of homes should be a non issue
Please take into consideration the above and the general interest from the pickleballcommunity when reviewing (and approving) this expansion.
Thank you,Barbara Brooker

Hi Gail,
I'm a 62 year old retiree and have lived in Danville for 31 years. I've enjoyed playing tennisfor much of that time, but as I have gotten older, I've realized that my body won't do thingsthat it used to do!
My wife and I found pickleball about 4 years ago and it has been a wonderful way for us toboth socialize as well as maintain our health. The pickleball community is a very welcomingenvironment and I strongly believe it helps to foster a positive community atmosphere.
Interest in the sport of pickleball has obviously grown exponentially over the past couple ofyears to the point where there is a significant lack of available courts. To that end, I amsending you this note to encourage you to help support the expansion of additional pickleballcourts within our community.
Thank you in advance for all of your efforts!
Best regards,Paul Rathkamp

Hi Gail,
My name is Tony Thomas and my family and I live in Danville Station close to Osage. I have started
playing pickleball within the last 6 months and it is part of my weekly exercise and social routine. A group
of local guys and I coordinate meet ups every week to play. The two courts at Osage are awesome,
except for the fact that they are very often packed making long wait times to play and minimizing the play
time and fun. It would be greatly beneficial to have more courts there to serve the members of the
community. While I don't think we need 12 or more courts, I do vigorously support adding an additional 4
or 6 bringing the total to 6 or 8. That would decrease the wait times and would not create a "pickleball
destination" as some are afraid of.
Thank you for your consideration. I am happy to provide any additional detail or answer questions from a
"pickleballer's perspective" if that would be helpful.
Sincerely,
Vincent Thomas

Gail,I’m writing again to voice my support for Pickleball at Osage. I know there is loud voices in opposition toexpanding Pickleball. I’d like to say loud isn’t alway right. The nearby homeowners have been persistent on theirmessage and statements during town proceedings. Those who support may not have been as effectively organizedbut this doesn’t diminish our desire to expand courts and the value more courts would bring to our town.
I won’t argue their points as I believe the town council understands the value proposition to our community from ahealth and socialization Pickleball brings to members of our town.
I would like to throw a little caution to the final decision. Eights courts are too many. Four to six is the right number.I’ve heard this repeated many times by my fellow Pickleballers. Most prefer six.
Best regardsJamal Jajeh

FR: Ron Fong & Barbara Fong
RE: Feb 8th, 2023 Parks, Recreation and Arts Commission meeting
We support adding additional pickleball courts at Osage Station Park
I am writing on behalf of myself and my wife (Barbara Fong). My name is Ron Fong, I
am 72 years old and have lived in Danville for over 36 years. Rather than taking
time away at the meeting speaking in person (“for the good of the town”), I am
sending an email to present my views. I am hoping that my written views carry the
same weight as if I spoke live at the meeting.
First I would like to thank all the members of the Parks, Recreation and Arts
Commission for all their hard work to provide our town with quality facilities at our
neighborhood and community parks. Over the years I have seen how our parkfacilities have evolved to meet the recreation needs of our ever changing town’s
population (age, demographics, recreation trends..).
I have been closely following the discussions related to expanding the pickleballfacilities at Osage Station Park. I understand that a CEQA and Acoustic study is
currently underway. I am optimistically hopeful that the study will show that some
form of pickleball court expansion can be completed at Osage Station Park that will
find common ground with the very vocal opposition who want to keep the park StatusQuo.
On behalf of myself and my wife, we support adding additional pickleball courts at
Osage Station Park
Thank you,
Ron Fong
