These ideas and priorities, along with continued efforts to make Danville an age-friendly place to live, will serve as the primary focus for a work plan by the Commission and Staff. Top Priorities: Transportation Program Gathering Space(s) Social Connections for All Housing Options Advocacy Transportation Program Safe, affordable, accessible Inventory existing resources and partnerships, including schools (Tri-Valley) Home to Downtown Route Options for transportation to medical appointments Beautify interchanges Gathering Spaces Dedicated space Intergenerational option, games, social gathering Easy access drop-in programming One stop for referral and resources Social Connections for All Ambassador program Community liaisons and volunteers (ex. high school students program for credit) Wellness checks Mentoring/co-mentoring Multigenerational activities “Take 5” Program (creating intentional connections) Business mentorships Shared Spaces and Programs (see: gathering spaces) Housing Options Accessible and affordable Close to Downtown Danville or transit Expand range of options (ex. Graduated care communities, homesharing program) Aggregate Housing Fee adjustment/property tax adjustment for Seniors Advocacy Housing Element Social Media Presentations at other meetings to promote Age-Friendly Roadmap
