SENIOR ADVISORY COMMISSION
STAFF REPORT
TO: Senior Advisory Commission October 27, 2021
SUBJECT: Review Age-Friendly Roadmap Strategic Plan Outline and Provide Staff with Feedback
BACKGROUND:
At its October 28, 2020 meeting, the Senior Advisor Commission (Commission) and consultants, Moore, Iacofano, Goltsman, Inc. (MIG), met to begin its work toward developing an Age-Friendly
Roadmap. This Roadmap would include strategies to make Danville more livable and better able to support people of all ages.
To assist in developing strategies, the Commission began to gather community input through the community engagement phase of the process. This process included an online survey and
in-person intercept events. MIG used the results of the engagement in the development of five domains of livability. At its August 13, 2021, workshop, the Commission discussed and
provided feedback on preferred strategies for implementation under each domain.
DISCUSSION
With the feedback provided from the Commission, MIG developed an outline for the Age-Friendly Roadmap: Strategic Plan Framework. This framework included the Town’s vision, mission, Roadmap
goals, the five domains of livability, and preferred strategies for implementation.
The Commission is being asked to review the Outline and provide feedback answering the following questions:
Does the information provided accurately capture the results of the engagement process?
Do the strategies in each domain still resonate with the Commission?
Are there any additional strategies that are missing from the list?
MIG will incorporate feedback into the draft Roadmap, which is tentatively scheduled to
return to the Commission in December 2021 for review.
RECOMMENDATION
Review Age-Friendly Roadmap Strategic Plan Outline and provide staff with feedback.
