Next Steps DIABLO VISTA PARK RENOVATION PROJECT OVERVIEW PARK RENOVATION PROJECT •Renovate this area of the existing park Update – Replace – Refresh! •Provide accessible circulation throughout. •Design a unique harmonious space, embracing the “Serpent” theme. PLAYGROUND RENOVATION •Aging playground is worn and there are safety concerns. •Promote child development. •Provide inclusive play features for children with a variety of functional competencies. MULTI-SPORT SKATE PARK •For all wheel types and skill levels. •Identified in the Feasibility Study 2018. Mount Diablo Town of Danville Limits DIABLO VISTA PARK RENOVATION PROJECT CONTEXT San Ramon The Diablo Vista Park site was chosen during the Feasibility Study Phase due to its accessibility, with adjacency to the hillside and creek open space. This open space provides a buffer between the skate park and neighborhoods. PROJECT LIMITS & EXISTING CONDITIONS Park entry/access “Serpent” Art Views of the hillside Remote side of the park ADA access is challenging; steep grade changes Skate park location not visible from the parking lot NEW MULTI-SPORT SKATE PARK PLAYGROUND RENOVATIONS Open space and creek serve as a buffer *Note: The existing restroom and arbor will remain and is not part of the Diablo Vista Park Renovation project scope. OCT 2022 NOV 2022-MAY 2023 JUN-OCT 2023 OCT 2023- NOV 2023 DEC 2023- AUG 2024 •Design Refinement •Final PRAC approval •Town Council Award of Design Services Contract Construction Documentation •Bid Period Construction Period Note: This is an ARPA grant funded project with time constraints. Construction must be completed by December 2025. Final component and design will consider supply chain availability. Which features would you like to see in the playground? KEY DEFINITIONS: BOWL-Sunken areas with a flat bottom and curved walls LEDGE- A fixed element to slide on or perform tricks MANUAL PAD- A small raised box for doing maneuvers on and off TRANSITION-A curved vertical surface of the ramp PUMP TRACK- A track for bikes, boards, and scooters. NEXT STEPS 1. Survey will be available on Friday, December 16, 2022. 2. Encourage community to fill out the survey. Survey will close on 01/04/2023. 3.
