Dear commissioners and powers in the PR&A
Commission for Danville, I would like to express my
disapproval of the new proposed pickle ball courts in the
conversation for Osage park. As you all know, the park
has plenty of activity for a neighborhood park with a
school, a popular kids' playground, a walking trail, and a
picnic area, large youth baseball and youth & adult
soccer leagues, and to think that we need more people
and traffic in this area is disturbing, and for what? A
pickleball area where probably 80-90% would be from
outside our county lines, with some from much farther.
I live in San Ramon and use the park daily to walk and
take my grandchildren to use the park or to smell the
roses often.
There are plenty of other areas in both counties for a
large pickle ball complex needed, but I certainly feel that
this is the wrong spot as it just doesn’t, in my opinion,
fit.
I thank you all for hearing my concern and hope you will
keep the very nice neighborhood park as it is.
All the best,
Kurt Glazier
Resident of San Ramon for 23 years.

First of all thank you for your time and energy on behalf of the town of Danville!
I am a 43 year resident and appreciate all the work it takes to keep a town running
smoothly !
I am writing to you all to request that you please restore the 4th tennis court at Osage
Park.
I am not against having more pickle ball courts. I play pickle ball too!
I am hoping you can see the LITTLE person like me that can ONLY play tennis(or pickle
ball)on public courts.
I do not belong to a country club.
It seems every year there are new decisions made that cut out our public options
instead of expanding them! My club is public and about 80 members but we have
teams to play all the leagues.
It is very hard to get matches done in only three courts. We used to be able to use the
4 PUBLIC courts at Monte Vista. Those have been shut down to us also ! We
understand the school safety issue but it seems there could have been some solution
that did not cut out the tax paying public.
The result was four courts for all our league play and now we are being squeezed down
again!
PLEASE consider giving the public better access to tennis by restoring the plan to
include the fourth tennis court.
I am hoping the pickle ball courts can also be included in the plan as the more we can
promote healthy outside activity the better for our community and world!
Sincerely
Patty Gross

Dear Mayor Arnerich,
My name is Carol Lane and I’ve been a resident of Danville for over twenty years.
I am asking you to oppose the expansion of pickle ball courts at Osage Park. This is a
small community park adjacent to a middle school and it does not have the parking and
road infrastructure to support the larger numbers of cars that would be drawn to that
area. This bottleneck will cause a major disruption to the residents of the area, along
with a safety concern for the students who traverse the small parking area daily during
the school year, and the children who come to use the sport fields year round. A
complex of this size will also potentially draw hundreds of visitors from outside the
Danville area, bringing noise and potential disturbance or vandalism to the
neighborhood.
This issue is personal to me even though I live a mile from the park. Ever since I’ve lived
here, I’ve used Osage Park. I brought my grandchildren here when they were small
tykes and I’ve watched them play sports on the fields as they grew up. And I’m out at
Osage five or six mornings a week, walking on the path. I’ve watched the evolution of
the pickle ball courts and I’ve seen the increasing numbers of players with just one
court. I’m also a pickle ball player, so I’m not opposed to putting a complex in: just not
at Osage. It’s too small and it will do much more harm than good. I’d like to suggest
looking at the larger Sycamore Park where there is more open space, and already
sufficient parking. And the houses are far enough away to not be affected by the larger
numbers of visitors.
Please vote no on the expansion of pickle ball courts at Osage. Thank you for your
consideration on this matter.
Sincerely,
Carol Lane
