Dear All,
Parks, Recreation and Arts Commission
Correspondence received as of 5:00 p.m. on November 28, 2022
I am a concerned parent of children at John Baldwin and Charlotte Wood. Please vote ‘no’ to the pickleball project
as Osage. It does not make sense to bring more traffic to the Osage Park neighborhood. The safety of our children
in this neighborhood needs to be prioritized over pickleball.
Best regards,
Amy Schmidbauer

Hello,
I am writing to let you know I am opposed to the new pickleball courts being built at Osage Park. I
live on Orange Blossom Way right behind the park and have two small children -- one who will be
attending John Baldwin next school year and I am concerned for the safety of my children going to
school with the increased traffic.
I urge you to please say "NO" to pickleball at Osage.
Thank you,
Melanie Huff

Dear Honorable Mayor and Council Members,
I am writing to address the loss of the fourth tennis court at Osage park. I am a
Danville resident, as well as a member and captain of multiple teams on the San
Ramon Valley Tennis Club. This club is an integral part of my life, and I am so
grateful we have it in our community. Our Club has been severely challenged with
the loss of the 4th tennis court. In the current proposals I see there are only 3
courts. However, a fourth court was promised to us if/when they were to expand
the pickleball courts. Though I do not play pickleball at this point in my life, I think
it’s wonderful that it’s such a growing sport in our community and beyond.
However, tennis is also a lifelong sport that shouldn’t be punished as another sport
grows. Please hear our concerns and please reinstate a 4th tennis court at Osage
Park.
Sincerely,
Abigail Sexton

I am a long time resident of Danville and have been playing on the Osage tennis courts for recreation and leagueplay thru San ramon tennis club. I understand the popularity of pickle ball and the city needs to now build a pickleball complex due to this popularity. One court for pickle ball is frustrating for them as is not providing a 4 th courtfor recreation tennis and league use. For those of us who cannot afford to join the private tennis clubs these courtsare all we have.

Dear Henry -
I am a long time member of the San Ramon Valley Tennis Club and am writing in support of restoring a
4th tennis court at Osage Park. SRVTC has a long history with the Town of Danville, including
contributions. In order for SRVTC to continue as a viable organization, we need public courts available to
us for our matches with visiting teams. It has been a struggle to deal with only 3 available courts, along
with the difficulty of playing a tennis match that requires a somewhat quiet environment right next to social
and loud pickle ball games.
I am in support of adding pickle ball courts in Danville, but not at the cost of limiting recreational tennis.
Thank you.
Alice Hughell
