Hi Gail,I have been a resident of Danville for over 21 years and I never felt so connected to our community as I do now! Why? Pickleball!I have met so many wonderful neighbors thru this sport! When our boys come home to visit we like to go to Osage to play pickleball as a family. Unfortunately due to thetwo courts always being crowded this is no longer possible. Please support more courts at Osage.Thank you for your time and consideration.Julie Bonnie

To the Town of Danville Parks and Recreation:This letter is in support of the town adding more pickleball courts to Osage Park. While I understand the neighborsconcerns, they did chose to live in close proximity to a park. I chose to live on the same street as a high school onthe west side of town. I knew there would be awful traffic in the mornings and afternoons. But I chose that. We allknow parks need to evolve as needed. No one can predict what that might be but we know they need to be a placewhere all people, regardless of age, ability or gender can choose to be physically active. We need to take into accountour population demographics as well. Are our parks set up to be equally enjoyed by the young and old alike? I findthis to be on the same lines as people who buy a home near an airport and then complain of the noise. Please help uscome to a compromise, but we need more courts. There are days where you only get 1game an hour while you standaround with 20 other people waiting for a court.YES PLEASE to more pickleball courts.Thank you,Karen DavisDanville 94526

Dear Administrative Assistant Gail Massagli
I am a Danville resident and I am writing to express my support for the proposed construction of
additional pickleball courts at the Osage Station Park. Additional Pickleball courts are needed to
accommodate the large number of Danville residents that use the existing two courts on a daily
basis. It is not unusual on a nice weather day for player attendance, of all ages and skill levels, to
reach counts in the high 30s. With only two existing pickleball courts playing wait times are very
long, forcing players to travel out-of-town in search of more accommodating locations in Plesanton,
Lafayette, or even farther.
The Osage Station Park is the most appropriate site for installation of additional Pickleball courts;
due to its large acreage it can easily accommodate the proposed courts with minimal to no impact
on any current and future uses of the Park. Additionally, the proposed expansion location,
sufficiently far from neighborhood homes, is intended to minimize concerns regarding noise levels
generated by the nature of the pickleball sport.
Thank you for your consideration. ! Please let me know if I can answer any questions.
Cordially,
Miguel Manrique

Hi Gail,
I am a Danville resident that has been playing pickleball at Osage Park for about a year. It has drawn
such a lovely group of people there. But unfortunately, there is not enough courts to accommodate
all the demand that there is. Pickleball players are like tennis players. Very nice, respectable people
just looking for exercise and social time. The Town of Danville needs to build new courts to
accommodate the growing demand. I feel my health is better having the opportunity to play this
sport. If you were inclined, I would love to invite you to play so you can see what all of the delight
and interest in this sport is all about.
I have heard from sources such as Nextdoor some major mistruths about how negatively this is going
to affect Danville and Osage. There are very few people who play here from other towns, and most
likely if they do, they are visiting family or friends in Danville. It is such an equalizer sport. Anyone
can play, albeit at different levels.
Please support the new pickleball court expansion.
Thank you,
April Burstedt
Danville resident

Hello Gail!
My letter is an enthusiastic support of the expansion of the Pickleball courts at Osage Park and have been playingtwo to four times per week at Osage since the tennis court conversion. I am a retired senior and was looking for anoutdoor activity which would promote fitness and social interaction. I mentioned it on Nextdoor and within a yearthere were over 100 players on our message board.
I play most often during weekday mornings and it is not uncommon for both courts to be full with 20 players of allages waiting.
I believe Osage Park is an ideal location for more courts due to its proximity to the Iron Horse Trail so that playerscan walk or bike to the courts. There is existing land near the courts for conversion. Further, it is a distance frommost homes where residents might object to the noise.
Pickleball is the fastest growing sport in the US and Danville is wise to meet the needs of all of its citizens. Myhusband and I have proudly raised our children here and have loved this community’s many playgrounds and fieldsfor our youth. Now it is time to also meet the needs of the aging population.
Thank you for your continued support!

Hi Gail,I’d like to comment on the proposed pickleball court expansion at Osage park.
My wife and I started playing pickleball a few years ago, often playing with our family on the tennis courts. Wewould have to travel all the way up to Walnut Creek to play on legitimate PB courts.
We were thrilled when the Town of Danville put 2 PB courts at Osage park. It’s a great location for us because wecan walk or ride our bikes. Like us, there a a lot of PB players that used to travel to other cities that now play here inour own town. This has impacted our 2 courts and the wait to play a game is sometimes over a half an hour.
I believe that Osage park is the best location in Danville for more courts. It’s centrally located with access to theIron Horse trail, restroom facilities and ample parking.
Pickleball is truly an inclusive, community sport. All ages, genders and abilities can play together. Players can showup and play a game with complete strangers and often come away with new friends. The pickleball community is sofriendly and is a big reason we love this sport.
Thanks you,David Bonnie

Dear Members of the Town of Danville Parks Recreation and Arts Commission,
We are writing to enthusiastically support adding more Pickleball courts atOsage Station Park for the following reasons:1. Pickleball is fun and accessible exercise for all ages. Danville does much to
support youth sports, and this is a good thing. More pickleball courts would provide
athletic opportunities for ALL ages. Pickleball benefits active seniors and adults aswell as kids.2. Pickleball courts do not need water! Given the ongoing drought in California, it
would be beneficial to replace the grass field with courts.
3. There are 61 existing parking spaces (+3 handicapped spaces) by the Osage
tennis/pickleball courts. This would support 15 courts (4 players per court) withoutany street parking being used. Many players walk or bike to the courts, made easy
by access via the Iron Horse trail, not impacting parking at all.
4. Pickleball produces no more noise than the numerous soccer and baseball games
that take place at Osage. Probably less. Instituting start and ending playing times indeference to neighbors living near the park is a valid consideration.
5. Personal Testimony: I was delighted to see the 2 courts installed in the summer of
2021! Over the past year I have learned the game, gotten lots of exercise, and
connected with others in our community I would never have met otherwise! Thephysical, social, and mental benefits of the game are well-documented:
cardiovascular health, social engagement, and decreased risk of depression to name
a few. Pickleball is the fastest growing sport in America for many reasons. It's
probably the fastest growing sport in Danville as well, as there are usually 20-40players who show up to play on any given morning at Osage.
I have lived in Danville for 31 years, and look forward to retiring here. The idea that
I have access to plentiful pickleball courts makes me that much more appreciativeof this wonderful place. MORE pickleball courts at Osage will be a huge plus for
Danville and its residents.

Hi Gail,
I hear there is some opposition to the proposed pickleball courts at Osage so wanted to offer my two cents. I liveright near the courts and almost always walk to the courts when I play so don’t even use a parking space. I knowmany others who play regularly do the same.
On Saturdays and Sundays the two courts at Osage are always backed up. There are often over 30 people waiting toplay on two courts. We definitely need a few more courts, whether it be the 12 proposed or really another 4-8 wouldbe fine too.
I’ve read all the opposition comments and think so much of it is exaggerated. A few more courts would not changethe make-up/flavor of Osage. Plenty of people walk or rode their bikes, plus there’s all the parking at CharlotteWood which would be close to the courts. The three tennis courts are almost always empty on weekends whichseems crazy when there are dozens of Danville residents waiting to play pickleball.
Please consider my husband and I a strong yes for additional pickleball courts…no matter how many you end upbuilding.

Gail Massagli:
I am writing to you to support the construction of additional pickleball courts at Osage Park inDanville.
I play pickleball 4-5 times a week at Osage Park, and there are many other "regular" playersthere as well. Currently, there are only two courts at Osage which can result in long waittimes to play as there can be up to 20-25 people waiting. (Some days, one of the players setsup a third net to allow another group of four to play and provide a bit of a faster turnover.)
I personally do not believe we need more than six courts total at Osage Park as having toomany courts will encourage many non-residents to come to Danville to play. Pickleball is thefastest growing sport in the US, and Osage Park provides a perfect location to add a fewadditional courts.
Thank you for the committee's consideration of this matter.

Gail,
I live a half mile away from Osage Park at Danville and have been using the 2 pickleball courtsregularly since they’ve been built. I’ve been seeing more and more people come out to play where the wait time canbe an hour between games that normally last for 15 minutes. I see more pickleballers than tennis players on thecourt. We need the additional courts as this sport is growing faster than any other sport. I support the building ofadditional courts and we shouldn’t allow a few people to disrupt this project. Both my wife and I enjoy playing andmeeting fellow players in the courts and meeting new ones.

Hello Gail,My family has been going to Osage St. Park from the time the children were little. Now we have a college studentand a junior at Monte Vista. They played in the playground way back when it had the water ponds, learned to bikeand roller blade on the circular path. As a family, we learned to play tennis and now Pickleball.
With the popularity of Pickleball, we need more courts to accommodate the long lines of Danville residents waitingto play at the only 2 courts available in the whole Town.

Dear Ms. MassagliI urge you to recommend a yes vote for the expansion of pickleball courts at Osage Station.1. The Commission has already acknowledged the need for pickleball courts at Osage by converting a tennis courtinto two pickleball courts.2. Pickleball is not a fad, it has been in existence since 1965.3. Emergency vehicles don’t park in parking spaces, they park in any clear space.4. There are two parking lots at Osage, one by the tennis/pickleball courts and one by the main entrance.5. I have observed no lines waiting to use the restrooms.6. Have there been any complaints due to pickleball playing7. There are many seniors in this community who enjoy playing pickleball.8. Opponents don’t oppose pickleball, they even suggest an alternate location.9. Even gated communities have converted tennis courts into pickleball courts, The Lake at Canyon Lakes to nameone .Thank youWayne Low

We are writing in support of expanding Osage Pickleball courts.
Pickleball was named the fastest growing sport in
America for the second year in a row, with 4.8
million players nationwide and a growth of almost
40% in the last two years, according to data from
the Sports and Fitness Industry Association.
My wife and I are both retired and we played
pickleball to keep us active and healthy. We
strongly support the expansion of the 10 pickleball
courts at Osage Station park.
Pickleball is perfect for us, however there are not
enough public pickleball courts to meet the
popularity of the sport in the Danville/San Ramon
area. Pickleball an easy game to learn and can be
played by people of all ages young and
old. It is a sport that can be easily played with your
entire family. We have met a lot of new friends
playing pickleball. Playing pickleball is a fun and
social game, full of laughter and camaraderie.
We strongly support more dedicated pickleball
courts in the Danville/San Ramon to meet this fast
growing sport. Having more access to public
pickleball courts will provide more physical activity
15
and health benefits for residents of all ages in our
community.
Thank you very much.

Hi Gail,
My family members have been residents of Danville for more than 30 years. We love the two existing
pickleball courts at Osage Station Park and use them frequently (3 -4 times per week). However, two
pickleball courts are simply not enough to satisfy the growing demand for pickleball in this area. With
often as many as 25 players (only 8 can play on the two existing courts), one frequently has to sit and
wait for a half-hour for a court to open up. I understand that there is some opposition to proposals for as
many as 10-14 new courts at Osage. Perhaps 10-14 courts is excessive. However, I believe that 6 new
courts would be a compromise that would go a long way to satisfying those in favor of more courts and
those who oppose them.

Jeff Shulman

I am a Danville resident and I would like to express my support for additional pickleball courts at Osage Park inDanville. Based on the growing number of players that I have seen frequenting Osage’s 2 courts since I startedplaying over a year ago, it is evident that this sport is growing at a phenomenal rate. I love the fact that the town ofDanville recognizes this growing popularity and has committed to creating more dedicated spaces for it’s residentsto play. Right now I see too many Danville residents going to other cities to play because we don’t have enoughcourts to accommodate players. I also love the social and healthy aspects of playing pickleball. Osage is a publicpark primarily used for youth soccer and baseball sports. Pickleball is a sport that can be played by all ages andvarying ages can all play together. It is not uncommon for a age 60+ player to be playing with or against someone40 years younger and there is conversation and fun banter amongst all. Families of children, teens, and parents canall play games together. There may be varying skill levels but it’s all fun!!Please support the Danville residents and move forward with the proposed pickleball courts at Osage Park.

To Gail Massagli and the members of the Danville City Council:
I'm writing in support of adding additional pickleball courts at Osage Station Park in Danville.
I moved to Danvilled shortly before the COVID pandemic. I didn't know very many peoplehere outside of family members. It was challenging to meet people and socialize in the midstof the pandemic. I decided to go to Osage Park and check out pickleball. It was a greatdecision! I had fun, made lots of new friends, and got great exercise. Almost everyone I've meton the pickleball courts has been friendly, kind, and welcoming. It's been so beneficial forboth my physical and mental health. And one of the great things about pickleball is that it'saccessible for people of all ages, especially older adults like me who need to stay activeto maintain our health.
I usually play 3-4 mornings a week. The only problem with the courts at Osage is that thereare not enough of them to accommodate all the people who want to play. I've seen dozens ofpeople waiting to play on many days. Increasing the number of courts will mean more peopleget to play and enjoy the many physical and social benefits of pickleball.
Thank you for taking the time to read my email. I hope you'll consider increasing the numberof courts at Osage Station Park.
Sincerely,Vera LanaroDanville, CA

Hi Gail.
Please share my email with the Parks Recreation and Arts Commission prior to their
meeting on Wednesday October 12th.
I so appreciate the support of the Commission for the Pickleball community here in
Danville. I have lived in Danville in the Greenbrook neighborhood for over 26 years.
It has been a wonderful community to both work and raise my children. I love theimportance the Danville Town Council has placed on celebrating family. Providing
the opportunities for families to play together, particularly Pickleball, supports our
town's mission.
I am writing this to ask for your ongoing support and to let you know personally what
the sport and community of Pickleball means to me.
I was introduced to the sport of Pickleball about 6 years ago while visiting a friendliving in Minneapolis. I was immediately drawn to the sport and purchased my paddle
on the spot...it easily fit in my suitcase back to CA. I found Pickleball in Walnut Creek
and Concord, but nothing here in Danville.
I was so very excited when Osage Park reconfigured a tennis court to 2 Pickleball
courts! I live in Greenbrook neighborhood and Osage is where I walk my dog, bring
my granddaughter to play, watch my nephews play baseball, and now play pickleball.
And here's why I love the sport...
Pickleball is a low-impact sport which makes it appealing to people of all ages
Good exercise and a great way to stay active
Works on balance and coordinationEasy To Learn
Any Age Can Play (and so fun with my granddaughter!)
Minimal equipment required
Great way to socializeCan play singles or doubles play
With the courts at Osage, Pickleball provides a great connection with my neighbors
and friends. I have invited my neighbors to the courts, explained the game anddinked a bit with them. Soon they were playing with the group. Another favorite part
of Pickleball is the fun time I have with my family, especially my 6-year-old
20
granddaughter. I gave them a family set of paddles and balls (plug for Costco!) for
Christmas a few years ago. My granddaughter has quite the swing now and we have
so much fun playing together.
As I'm sure you've heard, we love the courts at Osage...we just need more to
accommodate the popularity of the game within the Community. I was on the
Commission's call when they discussed the options to add courts at Osage and voted
to support the expansion. I urge you to follow through and build the additional courts
at Osage Park. Pickleball is a wonderful way to support the families and thecommunity of Danville that I so love.
Sincerely,
Patricia Walker

To the Parks, Recreation and Arts Commission:
I am writing in support of the proposed construction of additional pickleball courts at
Osage Park. As a Danville resident I enjoy playing pickleball, getting to know myneighbors and fellow pickleball players. The 2 courts that are there are well used and
in the mornings there are often 8 to 12 players (or more) waiting to play.
I understand there has been opposition to the expansion from neighbors and many
rumors about the construction. Although the space may allow for up to 12 courts, maybe a compromise could be
made and 6-8 courts total be constructed. This would lessen traffic in the area which
is a concern of the neighbors.
I very much look forward to the addition of more pickleball courts in Danville.
Thank you for your consideration

Thank you for considering expanding the outdoor pickleball court setup at Osage Park. We have all
undoubtedly seen the explosive growth of the sport not only with recreational players but also with
professional players/leagues and tournaments broadcast on TV. I have been playing pickleball for about
2 years now, and I play regularly about 3-4 days per week. I currently play outdoors in Livermore
(Livermore Downs park - 4 courts) and occasionally play in Walnut Creek (Rudgear Park - 8 courts). I've
stopped by Osage Park in Danville but there are only 2 courts there and is often crowded. I also play in
San Ramon as a guest in an HOA community that has restricted access. In Livermore where I play
regularly, the weekday morning crowd is usually 20-25 players every morning with another 20 or so
people on many weekday afternoons/evenings, and weekend and holiday mornings have been pushing
50 people in recent weeks. We could definitely use more outdoor pickleball courts in Danville and across
the Tri-valley. I enjoy the sport/competition, social aspect, and fresh air being able to play outdoors at
flexible times.
Please feel free to reach out if I can provide any additional information. I am also a member of the Tri-
Valley Pickleball Club who have been advocating for more courts in Livermore and Pleasanton and have
helped those cities build out their courts. Again, thank you for considering and working on this initiative. I
would be all for more outdoor pickleball courts at Osage.

However, we think it would be a great addition to the park. We like to use the pickle ball courts, but in the evening
they are often full since there are only two courts.

Gail,I live at in Danville, just around the corner from Osage. My familyregularly uses Osage for walks, kids played baseball and many of us play tennis. Kids evenwent to Charlotte Woods.
Now at 59 years old I moved from tennis to Pickleball. It’s a wonderful sport to not only keepphysically active but to meet my neighbors. I couldn’t tell you how many new friendshipsI’ve made from the Pickleball community. Many of these people live within a fewblocks away from me and Pickleball brought us together. In fact just about everyone I’ve metthere are from Danville and ages range from 20’s to early 80’s. My son joins me often, he isnow 30 years old. It brings family together as my wife is picking up the game too. What elsein our parks system promotes that!
We are in need for more courts. As you likely know this is a growing sport, nearly every timeI play someone new joins us for the first time. The crowd at Osage is growing. Our wait timeto get back on the courts between games is excessive. I would like to express my support forexpanding the courts at Osage. If you ask me it can’t happen fast enough.
Sunday my wife and I were walking to Osage, outside the park I heard cheers and uponentering near the tennis court, we came upon a Rugby league of kids they and their parentswere enjoying the space. The noise from Pickleball was only heard upon entering the tenniscourt area. Comparing it to soccer, baseball, school kids or any of the other leagues using thepark, the noise level from Pickleball is inconsequential.
Parking is another thing, come out Saturday morning you see bikes and scooters lined uparound the Pickleball courts, as this is their means of travel to the park. Many of us walk theretoo.
I’ve shared enough I hope the city approves expanding the courts at Osage to support ourcommunity, help continue to build the inclusive environment and community feeling of thesport.
Best Regards,Jamal Jajeh

Dear Gail Massagli:
Below are my Comments on Pickleball for the Upcoming October 12, 2022 Parks, Recreation and Arts
Commission Meeting.
The draft notes for the August 10, 2022 meeting showed some opposition to the proposed pickleball
changes at Osage Station Park. This email is to reinforce the support that the local community has for the
addition of new pickleball courts at Osage.
My name is Calvin Wong. I have been a resident of Danville since 1983 in the Shadow Hills
neighborhood. I have been playing pickleball since 2017 and I currently help organize pickleball play at
Osage on Wednesday mornings and Thursday evenings on the existing two courts.
I encourage support for adding new pickleball courts at Osage for the following reasons:
The two existing courts were originally built by the Town to gauge interest in pickleball and we
have now seen that demand exceeds current capacity.Pickleball courts are an effective use of the park. For example, as many as sixteen players can
play on a surface only slightly larger than a single tennis court.Pickleball is easy to learn and provides the health benefits of exercise that many of us seek.
People new to pickleball can learn to play on the first day, and because it is not too physicallydemanding, an entire multi-generational family can enjoy the sport together.
The concerns such as noise, traffic, and parking expressed by the opposition are nothing new for Osage
and can be overcome. Both Osage and Charlotte Wood Middle School occasionally hold special events
such as baseball and soccer tournaments, Girl Scouts, school open house, and school dances, all of
which are far more impactful that the new pickleball courts, and the community has managed with proper
coordination and planning. In fact, recently some dads took the opportunity to play pickleball while their
children were attending one of the school dances.
I hope that the Commission will agree that the many benefits afforded by more pickleball courts are in the
best interest of the community and that concerns of our Osage neighbors can be appropriately addressed
by the design team.
If you have any questions or comments about pickleball at Osage, please let me know.
Thanks,
Calvin Wong

Dear Ms. Massagli-
I understand the nearby residents oppose the proposed addition of pickleball courts at OsagePark. I sympathize with their concerns and hope to dispel some of their fears.
Residents are concerned with noise. With careful planning, I feel the pickleball courts couldbe situated in such a way so as to minimize noise to the surrounding homes. I would suggestlocating the tennis courts around the perimeter and the pickleball courts on the interior. Thetennis courts would thereby act as a buffer for the noise and the pickleball courts would befurther away from the homes.
I support the recently proposed time restriction of 8am and I am in full support of the townenforcing this restriction. I understand there is concern with foul language. In the eightmonths that I have been playing pickleball at Osage, not once have I heard any shoutedobscenities.
I understand there is a concern with traffic and parking. The existing two courts cannotaccommodate the current number of players and there is usually a crowd waiting their turn toplay. This points to the fact that traffic has already increased. With 60 spaces, the parking lothas no problem accommodating the existing players and then some. In fact, many players walkor ride their bikes to the courts, using the beautiful Iron Horse Trail.
Pleasanton has recently added six Pickleball courts at Muirwood Park and San Ramon hasapproved adding four courts at Central Park. These additions are likely to attract some playersaway from Osage. The current players do not want Osage to become an East Bay pickleballvenue any more than the nearby residents do, and with the addition of other courts nearby wedon’t think that it will. We simply want the Osage courts to be able to accommodate thepeople that already come to play.
Sincerely,Jane Raquel

Hi,
I’ve been a Danville resident since 1999 and would like to see the Town of Danvilleincreases the number of pickleball courts in Osage park. The popularity of pickleball has exploded in recent yearsand the 2 courts in Osage park cannot meet the demand resulting in long wait time. I have go to other towns/cities(Walnut Creek, Livermore, Concord etc) to play.
The Town should increase the number of pickleball courts to meet the demand of its local residents.Thank You for your consideration.

Dear Gail,
I am writing you to voice my support for the expansion of the pickleball courts at Osage Park in Danville. I havelived in this area for over 35 years. My daughters grew up here and went to Charlotte Wood and SRVH. I havebeen playing pickleball 3-4 times a week and was so happy to finally have local courts to play at. Often the 2pickleball courts at Osage have over 30-40 people waiting to play. It’s a growing sport that isn’t a fad or goingaway any time soon. Walnut Creek, Pleasanton, Dublin and Livermore all have pickleball court expansion projectsrecognizing this growing sport. It would be GREAT not to have to to some other city to play. Pickleball is enjoyedby all ages and is a very social sport. It would be great to have more courts to meet the growing demand.
Sincerely,Denise Lee

I think this item should be tabled until a full review of the impact: Parking Facilities (bathroom, trash) Impact to the neighborhood (traffic, parking on streets) Impact to the middle school? Can you even use the middle school parking in theschool hours?
If more parking or bathrooms are needed - where will they be located?
Where is the total plan? If when will it be available?
The past minutes in 2021 mentioned that the reason the current pickle ball courtslocation were selected because it would have the less noise impact to theresidents. If just adding 2 courts were a concern - why no concern for adding 6tennis courts/12 pickelball courts?
Why is there a need for 6 tennis courts/12 pickelball courts? ?
At this point I am against adding the courts.
If you need additional information please let me know.

Dear Parks and Recreation and Arts Commission:
I am writing to express my full and vibrant support for expanding the pickleball at Osage Station Park.
Just as we built soccer fields over the years to meet the interest/demand, made the town more accessible tophysically challenged residents and built the Veterans Hall, Pickleball is the future. Most all towns and communitiesin the country are trying to expand access to Pickleball because it is the fastest growing sport in the world.
Pickleball offers a wonderful opportunity for town residents to mix, recreate, socialize and grow together. It is goodfor mental and physical health. The amount of courts provided by the town has been far outstripped by the demandand number of players. The existing courts are almost always full and there is usually a large group waiting to play.
In many communities where the weather is warm, real estate agents report that PickleBall court access is a majordetermining factor for home buyers wanting to move into a certain community. Danville is the best town in the area, and maybe the state. We want to keep up with the changing needs and desires of our citizens. Pickleball is here tostay because it is an accessible sport to all ages and sizes, with many octogenarians and even nonagenariansenjoying it. It is especially edifying to see town residents of all different ages, cultures, and athletic abilities meldingtogether to enjoy the sport.
Adding more courts to Osage Station park should have little impact on the neighborhood. I also believe we shouldbe looking for additional places to expand court access ASAP. Many people are forced to join expensive clubs to beable to play a sport that can be provided by our town.
Thank you so much for considering the expansion of court access!!
Sincerely,Claire Humphrey

To the Danville Town Council,
I'm writing this email in support of adding more pickleball courts to the existing two courts at Osage Park.
Pickleball continues to be the fastest growing sport in America and it's a game that can be enjoyed by all
ages. It promotes good sportsmanship and sociability among those who play. I applaud the Town Council
for voting to add more pickleball courts in Danville. We are sorely in need of more courts as there are
days when the wait to participate can be as long as an hour.
Osage Park is and has been since its beginning a multi-sport venue with baseball diamonds, soccer
fields, tennis courts and basketball courts. It makes sense to add courts to accomodate a sport that
continues to grow in popularity. I live in Danville and regularly play on the Osage pickleball courts, but
have been forced to seek out courts in cities where there are more courts (Walnut Creek and Concord) at
times because the wait to play in Danville can be too long on certain days. I believe most people who play
pickleball are considerate and thoughtful individuals who will abide by the rules the Town Council has
published or will publish. I have seen no evidence that people come from all over the Bay Area to play at
Danville. Most are from Danville and San Ramon. In order for Danville to continue to be a city where its
residents can
enjoy many different types of outdoor recreational facilities, I ask that you build the additional pickleball
courts at Osage Station Park.
Thank you for your considertion.
Sincerely,
Victoria Williams
