Neighborhood Traffic Management Program for Orange Blossom Way Neighborhood
Dear Mr. Johnson:
In January of 2016, the Orange Blossom Way Neighborhood submitted a letter and
application requesting to participate in the Town's Neighborhood Traffic Management
Program (NTMP) as a result of resident concerns of speeding, pedestrian safety, school -
related, parking problems and cut-thru traffic within the neighborhood.
The Town conducted speed and volume surveys from 4/19/16 to 4/21/16 at two
Orange Blossom Way neighborhood locations. The results of the survey are as follows:
Average
Daily
Locations 85th Percentile Speed Traffic
Orange Blossom Way (Brookside Dr to 29.3 mph 1103
Orange BlossomCt)
C-) -ige 1-2-lossom Way I eadowlark Ct t
Oraj "I - tm 28, 8 mph 972
Capitan Dr)
The results and analysis of the traffic data findings show acceptable traffic patterns for a
local residential street based on the standard defined in the Town's General Plan and
adopted NTMP Guidelines.
At this time the Town cannot recommend the installation of physical traffic calming
measures. However, the Town does recommend a continued focus on education and
enforcement measures through the frequent deployment of a portable radar trailer unit
and targeted police enforcement in the neighborhood.

An additional rneasure to consider is the installation of "Keep Kids Alive -Drive 25"
signs (Attachment A). These types of sign programs have been a successful tool in
raising traffic safety awareness throughout many neighborhoods where physical traffic
calming devices were not feasible options.
If Orange Blossom Way is interested in pursuing any of these measures, Staff would be
happy to provide more information regarding the implementation process.
