Meeting Summary
July 14, 2022
1. CALL TO ORDER
The special meeting of the Danville Design Review Board was called to order at
5:00 p.m. by Chair Lou Palandrani. The meeting was conducted by teleconference
only.
1.1 Roll Call
Roll call was conducted for attendance:

1.2 Announcements
Information was provided on the format of the meeting and instructions for
public comment.
2. CHANGES TO THE ORDER OF THE AGENDA
There were no changes to the order of the agenda.
3. FOR THE GOOD OF THE TOWN
There were no public comments received.
4. ITEMS FOR CONSIDERATION/ACTION

4.1 Consider the approval of the May 26, 2022, Meeting Summary.
The May 26, 2022, Meeting Summary was approved.
5. PUBLIC HEARINGS
5.1 Review and approve DEV22-0010 architecture, color, and materials for the
commercial building located at 115 Railroad Avenue (Project Planner:
Fred Korbmacher).
Fred Korbmacher, Development Services Coordinator, presented the staff
report.
The owner-applicant Jake Jefferies presented the project and answered
questions from Design Review Board members.
There were no public comments received.
Decision: The Design Review Board approved the project as proposed.
Painting of the roof will be brought back to Design Review Board for color
approval.
5.2 Review and approve DEV22-0011 architecture, color, and materials for SD
9264, located at 2449 & 2451 Tassajara Lane (Project Planner: Fred
Korbmacher).
Fred Korbmacher, Development Services Coordinator, presented the staff
report.
The applicant Jim Burns, Collaborative Design Architects Inc., answered
Board Member questions regarding grading, retaining walls, proposed
architecture, and massing.
There were no public comments received.
Decision: The Design Review Board requested the applicant work with
staff to address the following issues and concerns: reduce massing and
add consistent fenestration, especially front elevations; reduce the
commercial appearance of the architecture, especially the front
door/window systems; make the individual units and overall project
more consistent architecturally; address the mix of craftsman and modern
styles on some of the elevations; prepare section drawing the run through

the adjoining street the structures and entire lots; address massing issue
for lot 1, including the terraced retaining wall and its impact on the street
and the existing residence to the east; prepare a fly-through exhibit to
better show the relationship between the proposed residences, grading,
and siting. This project will be brought back to a future yet to be
determined Design Review Board meeting date.
