HomeMy WebLinkAbout075-2022DocuSign Envelope ID: 566EF8F5-E3C3-4E97-670E-3E62ADD3C345 RESOLUTION NO. 75-2022 AUTHORIZING A REQUEST TO THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION FOR THE ALLOCATION OF HIGHWAY SAFETY IMPROVEMENT PROGRAM ("HSIP"), CYCLE 11 FUNDS WHEREAS, the Highway Safety Improvement Program ("HSIP") is a federal -aid program under the United States Code, Title 23, Section 148; and WHEREAS, the HSIP is a core federal -aid program with the purpose to achieve a significant reduction in traffic fatalities and serious injuries on all public roads; and WHEREAS, the Federal Highway Administration has designated the State of California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) to administer the HSIP for eligible public agencies within the State of California; and WHEREAS, Caltrans announced a call -for -projects for HSIP, Cycle 11 funds for Fiscal Year 2022-23; and WHEREAS, the Town of Danville desires to submit a request to Caltrans for the allocation of HSIP, Cycle 11 funds for Hartz Avenue Intersection Safety Improvements as part of the Downtown Improvements Project, Capital Improvement Project ("CIP") A- 362, and as identified in the 2022 Draft Downtown Master Plan; and WHEREAS, the Town of Danville desires to submit a request to Caltrans for the allocation of HSIP, Cycle 11 funds for Townwide Intersection Safety Improvements as part of Townwide Traffic Signal Modernization, CIP C-634; and WHEREAS, Downtown Improvements Project, CIP A-362 and Townwide Traffic Signal Modernization, CIP C-634 are identified in the FY 2022/ 23 Operating Budget and Capital Improvement Program; and WHEREAS, on April 21, 2021, the Town of Danville adopted Resolution No. 15-2021, authorizing the Town Manager to execute a Master Agreement with Caltrans for State - funded projects to fulfill the Town's eligibility requirement to receive State and/or Federal funding for transportation projects; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, that the Town of Danville declares it is eligible to request an allocation of HSIP, Cycle 11 funds pursuant to United States Code, Title 23, Section 148; and, be it further RESOLVED, that the City Engineer is authorized to submit a request for HSIP, Cycle 11 funds; and, be it further DocuSign Envelope ID: 566EF8F5-E3C3-4E97-670E-3E62ADD3C345 RESOLVED, that a certified copy of this resolution and its attachments, and any accompanying supporting materials shall be forwarded to the congestion management agency, county -wide transportation planning agency, or county association of governments, as the case may be, of Contra Costa County for submission to Caltrans.
