Danville Heritage Resource Commission – Special Meeting Summary of Actions - Draft June 13, 2022 1. CALL TO ORDER The special meeting of the Danville Heritage Resource Commission was called to order by Vice Chair Powers at 7:00 p.m. The meeting was conducted by teleconference only. 1.1 Roll Call Administrative Assistant Kristine Meidberg conducted the roll call for attendance: Present: Mike Ammann, Commissioner Kathryn Benvenuto, Commissioner Lee Halverson, Commissioner Jerry Warren, Commissioner James Powers, Vice Chair Mark Graham, Chair Excused: Kim Holmes, Commissioner It is noted that Chair Graham entered the meeting at 7:26 p.m. 1.2 Announcements Administrative Assistant Kristine Meidberg provided information regarding the format of the meeting and instructions for public comment. 2. CHANGES TO THE ORDER OF THE AGENDA There were no changes to the order of the agenda. Your name will be announced, and you will have up to three (3) minutes to share your comments. There were no public comments. 4. ITEMS FOR CONSIDERATION/ACTION 4.1 Consider approval of the Summary of Actions from the May 9, 2022, Heritage Resource Commission special meeting. MOTION BY COMMISSIONER AMMANN, SECOND BY COMMISSIONER BENVENUTO TO APPROVE THE SUMMARY OF ACTIONS FROM THE MAY 9, 2022, HERITAGE RESOURCE COMMISSION SPECIAL MEETING MOTION CARRIED 5-0-0-1; COMMISSIONER HOLMES EXCUSED; CHAIR GRAHAM NOT YET PRESENT 4.2 Consider approval of Resolution No. 2022-01, recommending the Town Council designate 178 E. Prospect Avenue as a Town-designated Heritage Resource and granting a Historic Preservation Incentive Package (Project Planner: David Crompton). MOTION BY COMMISSION WARREN, SECOND BY COMMISSIONER HALVERSON TO APPROVE RESOLUTION NO. 2022-01 DESIGNATING 178 E PROSPECT AVENUE AS A TOWN-DESIGNATED HERITAGE RESOURCE AND GRANTING A HISTORIC PRESERVATION INCENTIVE PACKAGE MOTION CARRIED 5-0-0-1; COMMISSIONER HOLMES EXCUSED; CHAIR GRAHAM NOT YET PRESENT 5. NEW BUSINESS 5.1 Progress report from the Commission Historic Survey Subcommittee David Crompton, Chief of Planning, updated the Commission on the walking tour app. He will send out an email with the new app, once locations have been added. Danville Heritage Resource Commission – Special Meeting Summary of Actions - Draft June 13, 2022 3 5.2 Progress report from the Commission Outreach/Education Subcommittee Commissioner Warren had suggestions on future projects to recognize and plaque. Commissioner Benvenuto reported on the behalf of Commissioner Holmes in regard to approving the Xavier’s Shoe Store. The Commissioners discussed the proof and made a minor edit. MOTION BY VICE-CHAIR POWERS, SECOND BY COMMISSIONER HALVERSON TO APPROVE THE XAVIER PLAQUE LANGUAGE AS AMENDED AND REVIEWED BY COMMISSIONER HOLMES FOR APPROVAL MOTION APPROVED 5-0-0-1; COMMISSIONER HOLMES EXCUSED; CHAIR GRAHAM NOT YET PRESENT Chair Graham entered the meeting at 7:26 p.m. The language for the Fredrickson House was reviewed. Commissioner Warren was concerned about the length and would like to see it shortened. Minor edits were made. MOTION BY COMMISSIONER HALVERSON, SECOND BY COMMISSIONER BENVENUTO TO APPROVE THE FREDRICKSON HOUSE PLAQUE LANGUAGE AS CORRECTED. MOTION APPROVED 5-0-1-1; COMMISSIONER WARREN ABSTAINED; COMMISSIONER HOLMES EXCUSED 6. REPORTS AND COMMUNICATIONS 6.1 Commissioner Reports There were no commissioner reports.
