Danville Parks, Recreation and Arts Commission - Special Meeting
Summary of Actions
June 15, 2022
1. CALL TO ORDER
The special meeting of the Danville Parks, Recreation and Arts Commission was
called to order by Chair Diamond at 6:30 p.m. The meeting was conducted by
teleconference only.
1.1 Roll Call
Administrative Assistant Gail Massagli conducted the roll call for attendance:

1.2 Announcements
Gail Massagli, Administrative Assistant, provided information regarding the
format of the meeting and instructions for public comment.
2. CHANGES TO THE ORDER OF THE AGENDA
There were no changes to the Order of the Agenda.

4.4 Designation of Sub-Committee and Liaison Assignments
The Commission deferred the Designation of Sub-Committee and Liaison
Assignments to the July 13, 2022, meeting.
5. REPORTS AND PRESENTATIONS
5.1 Recreation, Arts, and Community Services Director’s Report
Director Henry Perezalonso provided an update on June’s Town Council
meetings including the budget taking effect on July 1, 2022, the approval of the
Oak Hill Park Playground Renovations, and the current Commission recruitment.

Director Henry Perezalonso provided an overview of Recreation’s programs and
activities for the month of June. He discussed the Town’s Aquatic programming
that has been highly impacted by the national lifeguard shortage creating staff
shortages and cancellations of swim lessons. Facility and picnic rentals continue
to increase and staff are working hard to provide the best solution possible.
5.2 Commissioner’s Reports and Comments
Commissioner Mesic complimented Henry’s staff for a fantastic May the Fourth
event.
Vice Chair Falcon thanked the Commission and looks forward to fulfilling his
duties as the newly appointed Chair.
Commissioner Neary congratulated Vice Chair Falcon and Commissioner Mesic
on their new positions. He complimented Chair Diamond for a successful year
leading the Commission.
Commissioner Donovan complimented Henry and his staff on the summer
registration numbers for 2022. He congratulated Vice Chair Falcon and
Commissioner Mesic on their newly appointed positions. He thanked Chair
Diamond for his courage and success throughout the year.
Commissioner Brandeis thanked the commissioners and staff for an amazing year.
Commissioner Joyce, Planning Commission liaison, provided an update on the
Faz property. She shared she enjoyed the trail mixer to Point Reyes and would
consider paying a nominal fee for the activity. She inquired about future
Commission meetings returning to in-person and being hybrid.
Chair Diamond thanked his fellow commissioners for a strong year.
