STUDY SESSION MEMORANDUM
TO: Mayor and Town Council July 12, 2022
SUBJECT: Town Council meeting dates and holidays to be observed in 2023
BACKGROUND
The Town Council conducts its regular meetings on the first and third Tuesdays of each
month. For 2023, exceptions occur during the months of January and August. For these
months, only one meeting will be held on the third Tuesday. Town Council study sessions
are held on the second Tuesday of each month, with exceptions in January, May and August.
In January and August, the study session will be held on the third Tuesday, the day of the
regular meeting. Each Tuesday in May is reserved for discussion of the Town’s Operating
Budget and Capital Improvement Program. Attachment A is a draft list of Town Council
meeting dates for 2023.
There are 11 legal holidays observed by the Town each year. In addition, for 2023, three
holiday furlough dates are scheduled and reflect office closure from December 25 through
December 29, 2023. Town Offices will reopen on Tuesday, January 2, 2024, following the
2024 New Year’s holiday that is observed on Monday, January 1, 2024. Attachment B is a
list of proposed dates and events for 2023.
DISCUSSION
This item is for discussion only. Town Council action will be agendized for the regular
meeting on July 19, 2022.
