May 9, 2022 - DRAFT
1. CALL TO ORDER
The special meeting of the Danville Heritage Resource Commission was called to
order by Chair Graham at 7:00 p.m. The meeting was conducted by teleconference
only.
1.1 Roll Call
Administrative Assistant Kristine Meidberg conducted the roll call for
attendance:
Present: Mike Ammann, Commissioner
Kathryn Benvenuto, Commissioner
Lee Halverson, Commissioner
Kim Holmes, Commissioner
Jerry Warren, Commissioner
James Powers, Vice Chair
Mark Graham, Chair
Excused: None
1.2 Announcements
Administrative Assistant Kristine Meidberg provided information
regarding the format of the meeting and instructions for public comment.
2. CHANGES TO THE ORDER OF THE AGENDA
There were no changes to the order of the agenda.

3. “FOR THE GOOD OF THE TOWN” – To address the Heritage Resource Commission about a
subject which is not listed on the agenda, click on the "Raise Your Hand" option in Zoom. Your name will
be announced and you will have up to three (3) minutes to share your comments.
There were no public comments.
4. ITEMS FOR CONSIDERATION/ACTION
4.1 Consider approval of the Summary of Actions from the March 14, 2022,
Heritage Resource Commission special meeting.

ACTIONS FROM THE MARCH 14, 2022, HERITAGE RESOURCE
COMMISSION SPECIAL MEETING

5. NEW BUSINESS
5.1 Progress report from the Commission Historic Survey Subcommittee (M.
Ammann, M. Graham, L. Halverson)
Commissioner Halverson tested the PocketSights app once again and was
unsuccessful and suggests we move on to another app.
Chief of Planning, David Crompton explained that another app has been
identified and testing of that app will begin shortly.
5.2 Progress report from the Commission Outreach/Education Subcommittee
(K. Benvenuto, K. Holmes, J. Powers, J. Warren)
Commissioner Holmes gave an update on Xavier’s Shoe Store/DeSousa
Building. The building should be dated 1911. She spoke with John
DeSousa and he is good with the narrative. The plaque on the building will
honor Sharron DeSousa by having the last line read “In memory of Sharron
DeSousa.”
Commissioner Halverson suggested we locate Gary Xavier for help.
Commissioner Benvenuto reported that they are on hold with Elliot House.

Vice Chair Powers reported that the Fazio Fisher is also on hold.
6. REPORTS AND COMMUNICATIONS
6.1 Commissioner Reports
Chief of Planning, David Crompton, reminded the Commissioners that the
annual report states Commissioners should do one training event per year.
He will look for training opportunities and forward them to the
Commissioners.
7. ADJOURNMENT
The special meeting of the Danville Heritage Resource Commission was
adjourned at 7:17 pm.
