Design Review Board Meeting Summary May 12, 2022 1. CALL TO ORDER The special meeting of the Danville Design Review Board was called to order at 5:00 p.m. by Chair Palandrani. The meeting was conducted by teleconference only. 1.1 Roll Call Roll call was conducted for attendance: Present: Mark Belotz, Board Member Robert Combs, Board Member Afshan Hamid, Vice Chair Lou Palandrani, Chair Chris Trujillo, Board Member Kevin Wong, Board Member 1.2 Announcements Information was provided on the format of the meeting and instructions for public comment. 2. CHANGES TO THE ORDER OF THE AGENDA There were no changes to the order of the agenda. 3. FOR THE GOOD OF THE TOWN There were no public comments received. 4. ITEMS FOR CONSIDERATION/ACTION 4.1 Consider the approval of the March 24, 2022, Meeting Summary. 2 The March 24, 2022, Meeting Summary was approved. 5. PUBLIC HEARINGS 5.1 Review and recommend approval of the colors and materials for Development Plan request DEV22-0002 for the previously approved new 7,587 square foot two-story single-family residence located at 24 Noble Oaks Lane (Project Planner: Riley Anderson-Barrett). Riley Anderson-Barrett, Assistant Planner, presented the staff report The applicant Amrinder “AJ” Sekhon was in attendance. There were no public comments received. Decision: The Design Review Board approved the project as proposed. 5.2 Review and approve final architectural design for the residence to be constructed on Lot 4 of a 4-lot subdivision located on Loyal Dragon Place (Project Planner: Fred Korbmacher). Fred Korbmacher, Development Coordinator, presented the staff report. The owner and applicant Van-Thi Huynh and Chuong Nguyen answered Board Member questions regarding proposed grading, retaining walls, and pad elevation for the proposed residence. There were no public comments received. Decision: The Design Review Board approved to continue item to an unspecified future date and requested the applicant provide additional accurate renderings and landscaping plans, two cross sections from the western property line through the proposed residence, the street, and the existing residence on the east side of the street, stake the footprint of the proposed residence, and to install story poles depicting the location and height of the front wall, and at the location of the maximum height of the residence. The DRB also requests that the applicant provide grading information regarding the possibility of moving further east. 3 5.3 Review Architecture for SD 9598, a nine-lot subdivision by Ponderosa Homes located at 2830 Camino Tassajara (Project Planner: Fred Korbmacher). Fred Korbmacher, Development Coordinator, presented the staff report. The applicant Jeff Schroeder, architect Teressa Oehrlein and landscape architect Will Green were in attendance and presented the project and answered Board Member questions. There were no public comments received. Decision: The Design Review Board recommended the Planning Commission approved the project with direction to add additional windows and details to the right elevation of the units that currently have blank walls, prior to the Planning Commission meeting. 6. REPORTS AND COMMUNICATIONS 6.1 Board Member Reports Vice Chair Hamid discussed going to a joint Town Council, Planning Commission and Design Review Board meeting regarding the Downtown Masterplan. Chair Palandrani acknowledged the Planning Commission approving 600 Hartz Ave. giving Design Review Board members recognition for their contributions towards the project. 7. ADJOURNMENT The special meeting of the Danville Design Review Board was adjourned at 6:17 p.m.
