Honorable Newell Arnerich
Danville Town Council
La Gonda Way
Danville, CA 94526
Dear Mayor Arnerich and Town Councilmembers,
The Chamber enjoys our strong partnership with the Town on many street festivals and activities – most
especially on the Lighting of the Old Oak Tree, scheduled this year for Friday, November 25, 2022.
We take great pride in offering this joyous event as a kick-off to the holiday season each year and believe that
the Lighting of the Old Oak Tree truly embodies the spirit of the holiday season through performances from our
wonderful high school choirs and girls’ choruses in Danville. The event spurs local shopping, dining and festivities
that make our historic downtown so special.
I am writing today to respectfully request an increase in our reimbursable expenses from the Town of Danville
from $7,000 to $9,000.
In the past, the Town has set a limit of $7,000 on reimbursable expenses. Though we were able to attract
sponsors to offset costs, due to inflation and price increases for sound, lighting, portables, refreshments and
holiday treats for families, the event cost the Chamber more than $9,300 last year. We anticipate that there
could be an 8-9% increase this year due to inflation as well.
We appreciate our partnership with the Town and are so grateful for the opportunity to present programs
throughout the year that truly embody the spirit of Danville, our outstanding quality of life, and the ability to
live, work, and shop locally. Thank you for your consideration.
Best wishes,
Judy B. Lloyd
