I men* !orbs -Lime Danville resident ani owner of the Irl tirrweny,, naddysbulp Brewing Company I am writing to seek the Support of the Town Council in allowing all Danville basad breweries and wineries to sell their local, hand crafted product at our certified farmers' market. Licensed breweries and wineries in the state of California have been allowed by law to sell their product at certified fanners' markets since L 2013. ihiS well-received bi. partisan law has been very successful in adding true regional, wine and beer to the local community. A<s you koro% our market is managed by the Pacific Coast Farmers' Market Association. They are very supportive In adding Darr4'iille beer and wine to our market. Local beer and wine has been extremely popular at just about every other oertlfled farmers' market. Please see Elisabeth Garorl's signature below In support of this effort Elisabeth' irs the Regional I IVIanager of the PCFMA. rhe Danville farmers" market is surrounded by a plethora of stores., restaurants, .pas stations. m it i marts. tasting rooms etc_ that legally sell alcohol. The vast majority of this alcohol is not produced locally by proud members of the Danville comm unity -Ri businesses must hold the proper licenses and roust acthere to ali rules and regulations of the California Alcoholic Ic Beverage Control. The same Is true tor selling alcohol at any certified farmers' market. Breweries must hold a fan -hers' market specific ABC License Type B4 and wineries must hold an ABC License Type 79. All customers must be over 21 to purchase and alcohol sold is to be consumed at home. SO many 1.34riville residents come to our ferrriicrS' market Ototry Saturday to $upp.ort local merchants. They 5trol I the marker and purchase kmal produce, meats, cheesitnr bread etc. for their rday family dinner.. State law supports the purchase of wine or beer to pair with their meal at a cart fiael fatmEr5r market like Ours- Yet the Town of Danville d ie5 not 5uppprt the law or their own local breweries and winerir. Residents walk aver too L unardi's and purchase wine or beer for their meal that are obviously not produced by a local resident_ Th s is simply nonsensical and unialy_ 1 live less than a hair mile from our farmers' market. It is my dream to 5eII mw craft beer to my IocI community.. 1 don't think It sets much more local than that. If the law of California allows it, the Town Council should allow it.
