SUMMARY OF ACTIONS
February 1, 2022 - DRAFT
1. CALL TO ORDER
The regular meeting of the Danville Town Council was called to order by Mayor
Arnerich at 5:00 p.m. The meeting was conducted by teleconference only.
1.1Roll Call
City Clerk Marie Sunseri conducted the roll call for attendance.
Present: Newell Arnerich, Mayor

1.2 Announcements
City Clerk Marie Sunseri provided information regarding the format of the
meeting and instructions for public comment.
2. PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE TO THE FLAG
The pledge of allegiance to the flag was led by Allan Shields.
3. CHANGES TO THE ORDER OF THE AGENDA
Town Manager Joe Calabrigo recommended that the Town Council add an
urgency item to the agenda because the need to add the item arose after posting of
the agenda: Item 5.3 Proclamation recognizing celebrations of the Lunar New
Year. An urgency item requires a 4/5s vote of the Town Council.

4. FOR THE GOOD OF THE TOWN
Conscious Contra Costa, Veronica Benjamin, commended the Town for
agendizing a proclamation recognizing February as Black History Month.
Steve Beck commented on the Contra Costa County District Attorney’s Office
handling of the police incident on March 11, 2021.
5. PRESENTATIONS
5.1Introduction of new Police Department personnel by Danville Police Chief
Allan Shields
Chief Allan Shields introduced new Police Department personnel.
5.2Proclamation recognizing February 2022 as Black History Month
Mayor Arnerich read the proclamation.
5.3Proclamation recognizing celebrations of the Lunar New Year
Mayor Arnerich presented the proclamation to Kay Wang of Bay Valley
Chinese School and Margaret Liang of Asian Pacific Islander American
Public Affairs Association (APAPA).
6. CONSENT CALENDAR
6.1Consider approval of the Summary of Actions from the regular Town
Council meeting of January 11, 2022

CAMPAIGN CONTRIBUTION LIMITS FOR TOWN COUNCIL CANDIDATES AND
RETURN FOR SECOND READING ON FEBRUARY 15, 2022
MOTION CARRIED 5-0
10. ADMINISTRATIVE STAFF REPORTS
10.1Consider adoption of Resolution No. 8-2022, approving the Fiber Optic
Communications Network Master Plan as part of Fiber Optic Cable
Interconnect Project, CIP A-620

The regular meeting of the Danville Town Council was adjourned at 7:20 p.m. in
honor of two campus police officers killed in the line of duty today at Bridgewater
College in Virginia.
