RESOLUTION NO. 7-2022
APPROPRIATING COMPREHENSIVE PLANNING FEE FUNDS AND
AUTHORIZING THE TOWN MANAGER TO EXECUTE A CONTRACT FOR
COMMUNITY SURVEY CONSULTING SERVICES RELATED TO THE 2023-2031
HOUSING ELEMENT
WHEREAS, all cities and counties in California must maintain a General Plan Housing
Element which plans for the housing needs of its residents; and
WHEREAS, the Association of Bay Area Governments (ABAG) assigned Danville a
minimum of 2,241 units of the region's total share; and
WHEREAS, the Danville Town Council directed staff to embark upon a three -phased
community outreach effort including general education on the Housing Element
processing (Phase 1), community engagement on Housing Opportunity Sites (Phase 2), and
community input during the adoption process (Phase 3); and
WHEREAS, as an initial component of the Phase 2 public outreach effort, the Town will
undertake a survey of residents regarding their land use priorities; and
WHEREAS, the Town seeks the assistance of a professional community research firm to
develop the survey and analyze its findings; and
WHEREAS, after requesting proposals from firms specializing in public opinion
research, the Town desires to enter into a contract with Godbe Research; now, therefore,
be it
RESOLVED, that the Danville Town Council hereby authorizes the Town Manager to
execute a contract agreement with Godbe Research for community survey consulting
services related to the 2023-2031 Housing Element; and, be it further
RESOLVED, that $30,000 is appropriated from the Town's Comprehensive Planning Fee
Fund.
